Mohawk Poll

rkzenrage • Jul 5, 2007 3:09 pm
Thinking of regrowing my Mohawk, not sure though, it will be on the top only, bright red (my beard will match).
Waddya' think?
elSicomoro • Jul 5, 2007 3:10 pm
So long as it won't affect you in "outside affairs," go for it.
rkzenrage • Jul 5, 2007 3:15 pm
I don't care what people think, other than those I care about.
Flint • Jul 5, 2007 4:02 pm
Dude, you were made to wear a 'hawk! You've got "the look"

Wearing a mohawk would not benefit me in my job situation...
...but I am considering a faux-hawk, or what I call "the wedge"

Does that mean you care about us?
rkzenrage • Jul 5, 2007 4:50 pm
Yup.
S-why I asked.
Undertoad • Jul 5, 2007 5:03 pm
It's funny -- that double-take people do for the wheelchair will become a triple and quadruple take! Then you'll become the subject of people's stories -- they'll say to their spouse "hey I was up the mall today and this guy in a wheelchair had a freakin' bright red mohawk!"
kerosene • Jul 5, 2007 6:24 pm
I think that is cool, rage. Do it!
Undertoad • Jul 5, 2007 6:32 pm
Re-reading what I wrote I need to make it clear that I'm in favor.
Aliantha • Jul 5, 2007 6:35 pm
I don't like mohawks. I vote not.
TheMercenary • Jul 5, 2007 6:36 pm
Knock yourself out. But please post a pic of the final product. I think it would look cool.
jinx • Jul 5, 2007 8:51 pm
My 8 year old has a very long "skater" hawk.... too long to wear up actually, but he likes his hair in his face for some reason....

I vote yes.
monster • Jul 5, 2007 8:54 pm
yup, if it will make you smile
DucksNuts • Jul 5, 2007 9:17 pm
Oh yeah - DO IT!!!

My then 3yr old was very proud of his mini mullet/mohawk when he had it....

which grew into a long mullet scraggy thing...but it was very cute.
Flint • Jul 5, 2007 9:19 pm
I've noticed that "skater bangs" are back. I saw kids at the mall, doing "the flip" (jerking head to throw bangs back from face) ...
piercehawkeye45 • Jul 5, 2007 10:11 pm
If you want to do it rage, then do it.

I agree with Merc, I want to see a picture of it.

I used to spike my hair into a mohawk with red gel when I would go out in eighth grade, my hair is too curly to do it now though.
Griff • Jul 6, 2007 7:14 am
If you really want to, but isn't a mohawk truly counter to the suave look you've been working? You'll need to rework your wardrobe...
LabRat • Jul 6, 2007 8:58 am
Do what makes you feel good. For crying out loud, you deserve it. Pics are a must though!!

BTW, adorable son, DN!

I think the mohawk can be an elegant, form-flattering style - for the properly-shaped human skull.
rkzenrage definitely has the right lines to pull this off, and his personal style is on the money for this look.

I guess I was thinking about some rather unfortunate punk cuts from 20+ years back, rather than a good solid Drums along the.. cut.
Cicero • Jul 6, 2007 4:45 pm
My husband has skater bangs and he's hot and 30...............I just wish he'd take off the shirt and get on the skateboard. *sigh*
Makes him look younger.
The same would probably go for the 'hawk.
Elspode • Jul 6, 2007 7:06 pm
I want to change my vote to "yes". I voted before I realized it was RZ's question. He most *definitely* needs a mohawk to go with his stylin' duds and his hot ass wheelchair. Fer sure.
Uisge Beatha • Jul 6, 2007 8:26 pm
RK, I certainly believe you can pull it off the right way, and you definitely should do what makes you feel good. Just avoid anything like a 'wedge' if it's anything like I'm afraid it is.......
lumberjim • Jul 6, 2007 9:24 pm
punk ass punk.
rkzenrage • Jul 6, 2007 9:25 pm
Nice.

I think I need to see a picture of yourself with the mohawk if you have one.

that rocks. spencer has a skater cut....clipped down short on both sides and long on top....he could totally do liberty spikes given the proper gel/spray/whatever you use to do that.

Cool freaky hairstyles would be yet another perk of being independently wealthy and unemployed. I might go with the viking look if i could. i think i'd look dead sexy ....like the big dude in braveheart.....the guy that threw the stone at mel but missed....here we go...

DucksNuts • Jul 10, 2007 1:14 am
Thats sexy in what world LJ??

Although, he was a bit hot in a big Hurley kinda way.

I want to go goth, but I dont think clients will like it.

One of my friends sports that look- he's a really talented computer hardware geek, he's supersmart, but he can't find a good job to save his life. I remember a time when I was hired somewhere and he wasn't within the same 2 week hiring period. He was way overqualified, I was completely out of my league, but I didn't smell. Seems unfair.
If I had the guts of Braveheart to tell him to get a haircut, a bath, and maybe get some clothes from at least the 1990's, maybe he wouldn't have to work at gas stations to support his family. Really smart and hard-working, yet completely unsophisticated. Oh such is life.....I'm such a bad friend.
This is a good look to remember when trying to quit your job. Or trying to get canned (whatever suits).

Shaved the hawk a few min ago, three day shadow. Don't think it will show-up in a picture.
Have an all-night medical test tonight, but I am planning on doing some YouTube posts tomorrow. If it shows-up I will take a still and post it.
Decided to start with a thin one. I may do a shorter, wider, layer on the outside of a different, darker, color later.

Do lots of pics, showing it growing!
rkzenrage • Jul 15, 2007 6:26 pm
I'll start soon. I think you can see it a little bit on my last YT post. I'll look closely.
Not sure if a flash would wash it out or not. Not feeling so hot today, so will take a pic tomorrow and see.
Edit:
I think you can see it here.
