Say you're having a pint with Sundae Girl and she disappears off Gabbly. Check the time here. Now you can determine who might show up if you soldier on.

We can probably work out a better list. Could we embed something like this?

this topic always confuses me. * Since we have people from far-flung corners, is there an optimum time window? Is there a time when it's slow for everyone?

*Since I can't count, dammit!

We have folks who work odd shifts as well...

Thanks Griff. I did find another world clock. I like this one.

It's for simple people like me.:dunce:

Then there are people like me who work 'normal' hours, but generally can only access the Cellar at home (darned boss actually wants me to work! :D )

skysidhe, that is a nice, simple one; thank you.

Can someone please explain why the military calls GMT Zulu?

Because each time zone is assigned a letter. No one said the military made sense. See here for a reference.

Additionally, Wikipedia has this to say:

The UTC time zone is sometimes denoted by the letter Z – a reference to the equivalent nautical time zone (GMT), which has been denoted by a Z since about 1950. The letter also refers to the "zone description" of zero hours, which has been used since 1920. See time zone history. Since the NATO phonetic alphabet and amateur radio word for Z is "Zulu", UTC is sometimes known as Zulu time. This is especially true in aviation, where Zulu is the universal standard.
