Domestic nudism

To what extent do you think people walk around their homes naked?

I do, lots, especially in the summer, but then I live alone, and there's no one there to see (lucky for them). Do you think a lot of people are casually naked in their homes? Okay, maybe not families with kids, but -- couples, singles, empty nesters, etc.

Do you think I'm weird? ;)
elSicomoro • Jun 20, 2007 4:04 pm
I'm naked or close to naked regularly in my home. On one hand, I prefer to wear as little as possible in general. On the other hand, I don't want anyone to see that much of me except for April. Which is why I dress "appropriately" outside the house...and why you will not see me baring anything here. :)
Cloud • Jun 20, 2007 4:07 pm
As little as possible--yeah, me too. I wonder about those people who dress head-to-toe, including shoes and stockings and shit, just to wear around the house.

NEVER do I wear shoes or underwear of any type in the house (unless someone's coming over or something like that)
Shawnee123 • Jun 20, 2007 4:23 pm
I tried hanging out nekkid at home once, but I kept finding myself screaming "PUT IT ON, BABY. Put it ALL on!"
glatt • Jun 20, 2007 4:25 pm
It's cold in the winter time. Just sayin'.
BrianR • Jun 20, 2007 4:25 pm
I wander around nakie now and then, more out of convenience than much else. Except when my sweetie is on the phone with someone and I tease her ;)

Men love to shake that thang around when we're on the phone, or reading, or watching TV, or making dinner, or mowing the lawn, or...:p

Sorry, don't know why I accidentally hit the Exclamation Traffic Sign.
Hime • Jun 20, 2007 4:32 pm
My fiance and I hang out naked all the time. :) It's so cute, he always asks if I mind if he takes his shirt/pants off. Hell no I don't mind -- that man is HOT. :p
Sundae • Jun 20, 2007 4:55 pm
My nekkid wandering is curtailed this year :(

Previously I was safe - the ONLY window in my flat that was overlooked was the front living room window. Once the curtains were drawn I could be as naked as I wanted - until the cats claws start to get long, then I'd rather be in 3 layers of clothes to escape the Attack of the Spindly Death Claws.

But the house & factory unit that blocked in my tiny back yard are coming down day by day. First the scaffolding went up and workmen could see into my kitchen (which I pass through on the way to the bathroom & toilet at 08.15 - they start at 08.00). Now they have taken the roof off the factory behind and it is only a matter of time before the wall comes down - leaving my ground floor bedroom window visible to anyone in Bulwer Road instead of facing a blank facade.

Thank goodness I'm moving in away.
But sharing with a male friend means no more casual nekkidness unless he's working away.
It's not a naturist thing with me - more about heat, using up clean clothes and I guess just the freedom of it.

Sigh.
Elspode • Jun 20, 2007 6:21 pm
I wear as little as possible at all times when in the house. And sometimes when outside at night. This can and does include wearing nothing.
fargon • Jun 20, 2007 6:31 pm
We are nekkie now:lovers: :doit:
Cyclefrance • Jun 20, 2007 6:42 pm
Me naked around the house? It's a bit like the idea of my wearing lycra shorts when cycling - I just don't think the world is ready for such a vision, not just yet....

Oh, OK, maybe a bit of total exposure between the bedroom and the shower room - adventurous stuff - trouble with our place is we're next to a bridle path so there's a regular flow of horses (with riders) and walkers past our drive which is on a direct line with the porch which just happens to have windows either side of the front door which just happen to be on a direct line between the bedroom and the shower room.
DucksNuts • Jun 20, 2007 7:49 pm
Singlet Top (tank) and undies are the normal at my place in the warmer weather, or in the mornings after a shower before getting ready for work. Full nakedness is kept for after sex toilet runs or food runs.

I have 2 little boys in the house and they have NO filter between mind n mouth.

"Geez, you've got REAAALLLLY big jox!!!"....pff compared to your little size 4 boys jox, I guess I do :eyebrow:

"Where's your willy??"
Thesilkmeister • Jun 20, 2007 7:51 pm
i usually wander around the house in the buff when i get up of a morning. It's nice, expecially when it's cold as the freshness wakes you up......a bit like getting flicked on the bum with a wet teatowel.

Here's a poser for you though - is it bad etiquitte to wave to your neighbours throught he window when nekkid? Our neighbours are about 1 metre away and their kitchen window looks straight through our spare bedroom window and into our kitchen. I have been known to give them the big shiteating "top-o-the-morning" grin and a wave whilst nuding up. The wife thinks i'm a freak.
Cloud • Jun 20, 2007 8:29 pm
LOL!

Serves them right for looking!
monster • Jun 20, 2007 8:46 pm
Don't tend to wander around nekkid during the day (neighbors windows are about 5 feet from ours), but don't bother putting anything on while bossing the kids about in the morning or running down to the basement to get clean laundry or going to put the kettle on.... or when I have to get up in the night to deal with barfing or whatever.
TheMercenary • Jun 21, 2007 12:02 am
We do it. totally. We also lay out on a regular basis in the yard. Kids know it. We have a sun sign we put on the door so they know not to bring in friends when we are sunning. No big deal. Now our oldest walks around topless, nipples pierced and all, kind of funny.
Sperlock • Jun 21, 2007 10:11 pm
Yeah, I do it quite often as well.

but what about the nude thing?
jinx • Jun 21, 2007 11:22 pm
I never just wander around the house nude, but I do buy a lot of clothes based on comfort. I will search the house naked to find a particular article though, if I have my heart set on wearing it.
Elspode • Jun 22, 2007 12:25 am
I'm guessing that this habit of yours probably leads to LJ spending a lot of time hiding your most comfy ensembles.
bluecuracao • Jun 22, 2007 2:49 am
Only in the back leg of our condo. The front leg has several gigantic windows with no curtains, in full view of many domiciles and building tops populated by random contractors, so we try to avoid walking around nekid on that end.
Clodfobble • Jun 22, 2007 7:57 pm
Naked, no. That's gross on the furniture. But in my underwear, all the time.
Aliantha • Jun 22, 2007 10:45 pm
I wander round in my underwear often while getting organized to go somewhere. Especially in the summer when using the hair dryer etc. It's so hot here that if you put your clothes on then blowdry all your makeup will fall off.

I sunbake naked in the yard in summer. Generally when the kids aren't home though because when they are, our place seems to be the focal point for all the kids in the neighbourhood.

No, but I do wonder if you cook while naked. BTW, if I ever visit, don't get dressed on my account.;)
Cloud • Jun 23, 2007 10:04 pm
I usually put something on to cook. or eat.

(looks at front door expectantly)

Skewered curtains of beef in a creamy sauce.

Nice.
Cloud • Jun 26, 2007 10:02 am
perfect dish for eating in the nude. That honey gets everywhere.

Monster, remember that not everyone's screen shots are configured the same--you're not an orphan anything on mine.

Being a bit of a klutz, and living in the prairie region of Canada, I don't often bounce around nekkid. A dash down the hallway between bathroom and bedroom is probably about it. Protection from bruising and skin abbrasions, as well as lower heating bills is key.
Cloud • Jul 3, 2007 8:19 pm
I have a friend who is a nudist. He's set up a web cam thingy in his house. So if your curious about domestic nudism, take a look:

That takes balls. No way I would consider doing something like that.

um, yeah, about his balls . . . he has the classiest scrotum I have ever seen. :earth: A beautiful large gauge scrotal ladder with rings.
