This Just Makes Us Cry
Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has tapped Rep. Alcee Hastings, a Florida Democrat, as a "national campaign co-chair," the campaign announced yesterday:

Rep. Hastings said, "When we elect the next President Clinton, this country will be a much better place for the African-American community, Floridians and all Americans." . . .

"I am delighted that Debbie and Alcee will take on leadership roles in my campaign," [Mrs.] Clinton said. "With their help, we will bring our message of change throughout Florida and across the country."

Who is Alcee Hastings? Ed Morrissey reminds us:

Hastings got appointed to the federal bench by Jimmy Carter in 1979. In less than two years, he got indicted for soliciting a bribe in an FBI sting. In 1983, he won an acquittal, but a subsequent House investigation found that he had committed perjury in that trial. The House Judiciary Committee authorized a whopping seventeen counts for impeachment against Hastings in 1988. . . .

Now Hillary has embraced Hastings, and indeed has made the former perjurer and corrupt judge as her campaign's national representative. She says that with Hastings' help, her "message of change" will get rolled across the country. The message is that the Clinton campaign has its own idea about the culture of corruption--they want to pursue it.

We're so disillusioned. We really thought the Democrats were going to be different!

The only people that will change anything from the Democratic Party will be Kucinich or Gravel and neither of them will get elected.

I can stand Obama and Edwards but Clinton can't even have consistent bullshit.

I am not sure I trust anyone in govenment anymore. It is all about power. And like you said, the one's that are remotely trustworthy are not electable, for many reasons.

According to Godwin's law, you killed your own thread in the title.

According to my law I expressed an opinion.

Don't you get it? It's the corrupt Republicans who are the problem!

Sorry bub, there is very little difference between the two groups.
Flint • Jun 10, 2007 10:41 pm
No, no, see, you're not getting it... it's the corrupt bad guys that are the problem, not the corrupt good guys . . . see?
I...uh...I had a link somewhere that explains this better. About the thing where the one guys are super-evil and the other guys aren't.

Oh please, I can give you a laundry list of corruptness for the 8 years before Bush and it nearly matches in frequency. One group of corrupt politico's is not better than the other. The last thing I want is another group of Lawyers in the WH.
Flint • Jun 10, 2007 10:50 pm
No, no, see... why aren't you understanding this? See, there's the good guys, and then there's the other ones. They do everything bad. The other ones are always, always bad. The good guys are never bad, ever. Only bad people vote for the bad guys, or stupid people, or they've been brainwashed, it could also be that.

Or they're SHEEPLE! Don't you love that word? I do!
Flint • Jun 10, 2007 11:12 pm
You know what sheeple have in common? They're always getting fucked! . . . :sheep:

... in that more or less traditional sport of politicians...

...the sheeplechase!

Everything old is new again.

Well Hitlery does sort of look like a sheep. Underneath that skin she is waiting to eat the children and raise your taxes.

Is this a wolf in sheep's clothing ref?
I mean eating the children fair enough, but don't blame Wolf for raising the taxes. She has enough crazy people to deal with.

Yawn. If you don't think Hitery is going to raise taxes you have not been paying attention.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 15, 2007 11:04 pm
I was more interested in the eating the children part.
