Fake evangelists accused of home invasion

I have always said that evangelists should not be allowed to just go door-to-door uninvited.
If people want religion, they will ask for it, there is a church on every corner, there is no need for people to go door-to-door waking people up who work nights, interrupting those who work at home, or just bothering those who do not wish to be.
I also think unsolicited phone and door-to-door sales should be illegal also. If someone wants something, they will get it.
This is also why I do not pull over for unmarked police cars and why you don't have to.

Money down the toilet, better spent burning it.

They do it because The Bible tells them to spread the word of God. I usually don't mind because most people are respectable about it. If it is their own money, I could really care less what they do with it.

How often does that happen?

The spreading the word of God or being respectable part?

I used to walk downtown Minneapolis at least once a week and everyone once in a while there will be people who hand out flyers or pamphlets supporting a church or just spreading their view of the word of God.

I see no problem with this (except the waste of paper) because they are not hurting anyone or telling anyone their views are wrong. They hand me the flyer and I usually just shake my head and say "no thank you" or smile, let them give it too me, skim it over, then throw it away in the nearest trash can.

If anyone confronts me or tells me my views are wrong, then I will get defensive fast but that hasn't happened to me yet.

How is that a mission or going door-to-door?

Oh, I thought you were saying spreading the gospel by any means, my bad.
