Elephants tuck in to a meal of fruit at an elephant day celebration at Mae Sa in Chiang Mai province, Thailand.

I was gonna save this for a Friday but hey, it'll be old by then. Happy Sunday?

I'm glad you didn't post this on Friday. I'm not sure I could fit even one of those things on my grill much less 200 of them. Whew.

And I'd have to fill the county rec center swimming pool with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce just to marinate 'em three at a time. Not sure they'd go fer that.

This is the Chinese equivalent of a bunch of SUVs filling up at a gas station. Sure they have extra space, big trunks, towing capability, and four-wheel drive -- but they are all only carrying one passenger! They cost a lot to fill and they pollute more than the smaller models.

Wait a minute, we did this picture before.

I've certainly seen something like it before, but then again, it's an annual event.... and there are always new recipes to explore

Must be a different menu from last year - none of the elephants seem to be complaining

But they build their own, improved next-year's models. Bet your SUV's can't do that.

My immediate reaction as well. But I gave up after fifteen minutes of searching for the "original".

Here it is (post 2908).

I think it takes them 22 months to produce the 'next-years' model.

Good work, thank you. Now I know I wasn't crazy, just wrong.
BigV • Jun 4, 2007 5:14 pm
direct to that post linky.

Thank you Clodfobble.

No problem. It was only hard to find (for me, anyway) because a search for the word "elephant" only turned up one post by glatt in the thread, and with the default posts-per-page settings it was pushed over onto the next page after the image.

In the meantime, I discovered that we have quite a lot of elephant IOTDs.

I wonder how big the tenderloins are on an elephant? Or, maybe their loins aren't that tender...eewwwww, wrinkly.

Oops! Thanks SG. I guess I saw Chiang Mai and thought China.
