Image

This is sort of provocative, I think; but it'll be provocative for different reasons in everyone. Here the photographer, credited as Amir Meri / EFE (a Spanish news service), has captured the beauty of sunset against the sudden light and flame of rocketry.

Presented without any political statement, these are rockets fired from Gaza into Israel.

Beautiful shot, completely beautiful, in spite of the terrible nature of the subject.

I imagine God coming out of that hole in the clouds to say they are all Naughty in His Sight.

Sigh.

all of a sudden, I feel very lonely.

I tried to read Gravity's Rainbow. I couldn't get past the bananas.

Puts me in mind of the hand of God reaching down to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

That is a work of art.

It balances the beauty of nature with the horrors of destruction into one even more beautiful, yet tragic, photo.

Yep, very nice picture! Contrast between beauty and the beast...

Those rocket trails look like a two-fingered salute

Please, please don't let this be photoshopped...

What? You don't see research rockets headed for the ozone layer? After all, one widely circulated belief is that Israel has concentrated the ozone layer for the benefit of Israel. Further research is necessary.
