The Machine has Started

It is easy to anticipate Democratic politics, just listen to NPR for a couple weeks. What I don't quite follow is the way they do it. The push for government intervention seems to start with the experts and functionaries who will profit from it. I picture it as a wheel with a couple hundred little jets mounted on it. They fire off randomly and often in the wrong direction until enough are firing in the same direction to start the spinning. Then having flushed out the program, they all join up and try to race the other wheels for public opinion.

Right now the Global Warming mob is winning, even the defense industry is hooking into that money pump, but the socialized medicine crowd is gaining fast.

In the past six years, with Bush and a Republican congress, we've spent over a trillion dollars between the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Medicare prescription program. I don't think the Democrats can do much better for defense or the medical industry.
