Your online professional persona

This is a subject that has long interested me, as a professional person with, shall we say, some--alternative--interests.

We've all heard about the professional fallout from personal blogs ridiculing bosses, embarassing Facebook pages, etc. But the opposite is true, too--you can promote your career through your online presence. Here's a good blog pages discussing this:

That's a pretty good blog in general. It's long and boring work to network and build an online presence. I haven't done the online presence thing but the little bit of networking I've done allowed me to send out a few emails and have work almost immediately.

I'm stalking your del.icio.us account, you realize that, don't you Grant?

I've had to really think about online personas and names. Unfortunately, many people only come to grips with this issue after being online for a long time--by then the damage is done.

I also liked the article on why people fall back to using Word (!!evil!!alert!!) after trying online collaboration tools.

Oh no, really? Have you seen anything interesting lately? Drawn any conclusions?

I'm interested in a lot of things.

Too early for conclusions, though. :D

Hey! I'm not really a stalker, ya know.

I'm just really fascinated with the diversity of other people's passions.

Haha, so you caught that, eh? Stalker!

No, really, I kid. I understand. The thing is, now I might start bookmarking things just to mess with you.

oh, terrific. The FBI is gonna be knockin' on my door any day now.

I love using del.icio.us to surf, especially when people put comments on their bookmarks. (Hint, hint)
