Beautiful Women

Cloud • Apr 17, 2007 8:57 pm
I like to look at beautiful women. (and men, of course--but that's another thread). I like to look at movies, etc. and see how the styles have changed.

Who do you think represent the most beautiful women of the 20th/21st century?

Nora Charles. Not Myrna Loy; Nora Charles.

but cameras have been!

and, not to fault your taste, but I find your list a bit odd. Smart? Talented? Yes. Most beautiful?

Well, tastes differ, as do styles of beauty. Being a small blond myself, I tend to like statuesque brunettes--Sophia Loren and Salma Hayek, for example. But there are lots of beautiful women out there.

Not me, alas!

They are both gorgeous Australian chickie babes, but they appeal to me as they are both down to earth and just great personalities.

(I don't like skinny) Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh, Lucille Ball, Brigitte Bardot, Jean Harlowe, Lauren Bacall, Marylin Monroe, Raquel Welch...
My top two are Audrey Hepburn and most beautiful... Sophia Loren

Modern two exceptions are Charlize Theron and, sometimes, Angelina Jolie.

.I've always thought Uma has a classic beauty.

Now I think Roselyn Sanchez (from Without a Trace) might just be the most beautiful woman who ever lived!

Kudos to UT for the Phoebe Cates!

I'd like to add this quote:

Yet her features were not of that regular mould which we have been falsely taught to worship in the classical labors of the heathen. "There is no exquisite beauty," says Bacon, Lord Verulam, speaking truly of all the forms and genera of beauty, without some strangeness in the proportion."
--Edgar Allen Poe, Ligeia

You used the term "we" when you should have said "most of us". A common, tongue-in-cheek remark is "We? You mean you and that mouse in your pocket?" if one doesn't consider himself a part of "we". And that overly made up phony tart was one damned good looking woman in her prime.

I didn't know you leaned that way. I'd have chosen my words more carefully, as should you have.
xoxoxoBruce • May 18, 2007 3:48 pm
I said we because the nation as a whole has changed it's taste in pop sluts. Now they look more like Mary Ann than Ginger. If you want to chose your words more carefully, don't make threats you can't back up.

IMHO most of these have waayyyyy too much make up. Dishonourable mentions go to Charlize Theron and Aishwarya Rai. I like 'em natural or close to.

Alas, I don't have a picture, but the most beautiful woman in my reality was one I knew distantly while at university: half Chinese (cute little nose, great skin) and half Hispanic (strong cheek bones, great skin). Big dark eyes, lustrous hair, wonderful body ....
Ohhh for a photo.....
If I ever get rich I am going to start an exchange student scholarship program to bring young Chinese and Hispanic people together. There should be more of this.

Some women can do that.

Tilda Swinton played the male angel Gabriel in Constantine and the White Witch in the Chronicles of Narnia. Although Tilda can't be called classically beautiful, I would still classify her as 'stunning'.
DanaC • Oct 28, 2007 7:19 pm
She was amazing as Gabriel. Hard to see how anybody else could have played that role. Very brave move for the director to cast a female.

But...Tilda was asexual in an inhuman way. That picture above just seems to lack depth, to me, leaving the figure asexual in the same way a plastic doll is.

I don't think you can stop people online from shortening your name if it's got more than three letters in it.

You'll spend a lot of time being cranky if you don't just learn to live with it Data. ;)

Agreed. There best album (and really the only one that counts IMO) is 1984s Stay Hungry.

Anyway, SMF = Sick Mother Fucker.

I'll have to put my $0.02 in.

Amy Lee is just gorgeous. She isn't like some of these stick-thin girls being posted here (Does anyone else look at them and think "Wow, it must be really uncomfortable in bed with them... imagine all those elbows and knees!"?). She's curvaecous, soft and plain sexy.

Her and Sophie Dahl. :D

You said "barely" 26 is far from 13. Legally, she's an adult.

Anyway, can't you just enjoy the beauty? Why does age matter to you so much?

You know why I post those pretty teens? I'm not compensating for anything, I'm not that vain. I just think of their potential beauty as adults.

Anyway, I've posted more 20-somethings than teens lately.

Age is just a number, ya'll.

I think the best thing for me to do is just to stop posting in this thread.
Cloud • Dec 2, 2007 2:12 am
I wasn't one who was getting on your case for the young'uns - just suggesting you went too far in the opposite direction with Ms. Henderson, who was never hot at any age, imo.
