Xia Aifeng, 36, stands on a chair as her daughter checks her hair at their home in Shangrao, in east China's Jiangxi province. Xia has not cut her hair for 16 years and it has grown to 2.42 metres long. She has to spend 90 minutes washing it once a week.

I just hope the hair on her head is the only place she doesn't trim!

WOW! It takes her 90 minutes to wash it.

But only once a week. A lot of grease and grime can accumulate on your scalp in one week. Ewwww...

I can't stand going a day without washing my hair so I can't imagine going a whole week.

That's what I was thinking...but maybe with daily brushing it stays pretty nice?

Anyhoo, that's a LOT of hair!

I've only had one haircut in about 16 years. I'm glad my hair doesn't grow that long, or I would definitely have to add haircuts to my routine.

Seriously...what's the point? Well I shave my head so I'm biased.

I'm sorry, but that is incredibly disgusting. Not only is it not edible, but, since she only washes it once a week, it probably has some gross stuff growing in it.

I keep mine under 4 inches, but I am also a guy and look really bad with long hair.

How does she keep it up when she walks around?

I wonder if her neck gets tired from the weight of the hair.

The Ring is the television set. The Grudge is just some scary woman and son in a house.. I still can't watch that movie without being freaked out for months..

They both involved long, straight, black hair, but it was "The Ring" that had the pose similar to this pic.

The Grudge: I used to call my b/f and make that throat noise over the phone. God that was creepy, but it's a noise we all learned to make growing up.
