What Lessons Will You Learn?

I believe in reincarnation. I belive in past lives. I believe that your soul exists and that it continues after your body dies. I believe that we learn lessons with each life we live. I don't believe that you'll come back as a tick if you fuck up this time around, but I do believe that if you hurt someone in this life, you'll get repaid in another.

I don't know what goal we are working towards, but I do think it matters that we learn from each life. When I started writing this, I intended to state plainly the lesson I think I need to learn the most. However....

What lesson should you be learning this life?

What lesson should I be learning?

What lesson should someone else you'd like to mention be learning?

I'm not sure what I should be learning. I wish there was a way for me to know these things.

I'm gonna put out to a lot more in the next life, I'm thinking thats where I went wrong.

The good times of Harlotry are where its at.

I'm coming back as the dali lama (however you spell that one). That means I get to move onto the next plane of existance in the next life. :)

I think in this life I'm supposed to be learning forgiveness. So far nearly all the challenges I've faced in this life have only been resolved after I've been able to forgive people, not always the people associated with the challenge.

forgiveness, understanding, to truly love another (as well as self) and to just take things as they come are the big general lessons, there seem to be quite a few of the smaller 'karmatic' lessons here and there though.. too many to list right now, suffice to say I'm trying to pay attention to them.

Self-control in moderation. Self-control is an all or nothing proposition for me.

Perhaps it's not too late.

I think i am here to learn how to roll the perfect joint.....done that. I can now die in peace.

Slightly more serious note.....I don't believe in reincarnation, but I still think a useful lesson to learn in life is empathy. To be able to empathise (without necessarily excusing or seeking to change) with others whose actions are very far from my own, seems to me to be a worthy lesson.

It's ok to be selfish. Being too selfless is a form of slavery.

I'm learning humility.

Moderation is the key to all aspects of life--food, drink, emotion, etc.

Stop to actually enjoy life every now and then.

I hope to learn to like myself more.

And for my partner, Harold, i hope he learns how much he's loved and by how many people.
