For those in the UK, or that have access to BBC Three, the Manchester Passion is on BBC Three at 7pm on Good Friday. It's basically the story of Easter told through the music of Manchester. I watched it last year, and while I'm not religious by any stretch of the imagination, I thought it was brilliant. Definetly recommended.
Wow, thanks for that King. I shall make time for it.
I only just noticed you're from Accrington:) I am Salford born, though I defected to Yorkshire a few years ago :P
Presumably then you will have lived in/around Manchester when the sorts of bands whose songs are in this show were at their peak, which is something I wish I could say. Of the top of my head there are songs by:
The Smiths/Morrissey
The Stone Roses
James
Joy Division
New Order
Unbelievable how productive Manchester was in terms of music at that time. Still doesn't do badly today.
The Charlatans
Inspiral Carpets
Happy Mondays
It's good work for a scene.
Certainly was king. Made the odd trip to the Hacienda too at its peak:)
I thought you were talking about the passion Manchester has about their soccer teams. Sorry.

Wow that's cool. I'm a huge Stone Roses fan and so is a friend of mine; we're always talking about how great it would've been to see them there.

There's that as well. MUFC One Love.
