No Hotlinking Please

Is anyone else seeing this? Or is something going on with my PC?
Happy Monkey • Apr 4, 2007 1:52 pm
Clear your cache.
Undertoad • Apr 4, 2007 1:53 pm
Last time I attempt major config changes in the middle of the day.
glatt • Apr 4, 2007 2:02 pm
I figured something like that was happening, so I left for lunch, but it was still screwed up when I came back. Dumping the cache took care of it.

Oh, and I had to make sure to clear my Google search tool bar before I took that screen shot. Couldn't have anyone seeing my ["Rod Stewart" sperm pump stomach] search. Too incriminating.

Doh!

Speaking of Rod, I heard he was contemplating doing a classic country album. Rod...give it up!

Mine is doing it as well and it is on a huge server. Sounds like a problem at the host site.
King • Apr 4, 2007 6:46 pm
I'm getting this too. It's not a big problem but I can't seem to get rid of it.
xoxoxoBruce • Apr 4, 2007 7:06 pm
Clear your cache, king.
King • Apr 4, 2007 7:11 pm
You mean clear my history, delete temporary internet files and cookies? Or is it something else? Because I already did that. It might be my browser though.
xoxoxoBruce • Apr 4, 2007 7:15 pm
check here for your set up.

Thanks, yeah I did that, and it's still messed up. It's okay, I'll live with it.
xoxoxoBruce • Apr 4, 2007 7:20 pm
Guess a god of the internet is punishing you for hot-linking in the distant past.
King • Apr 4, 2007 7:59 pm
I'm not even exactly sure what hotlinking is.:( I have a vague idea, but I don't think I've ever done it.
Undertoad • Apr 4, 2007 7:59 pm
aol caches things on your behalf. Blame them.

hotlinking is when people see an image of the day, and say, hey, that's really cool, I'll show all my blog readers (or whatever) the same image... by linking to it directly on cellar.org, that way the Cellar takes the bandwidth charges.

For example, the last image on this thread is actually coming from cellar.org

I looked but could not find the image in question. Too bad you can't pull an "immaculate hack" and fix their little red wagon without messing up your own system (breaking links/pics etc). Or maybe you can...

Big V I looked. Was last image. At that time. bb

Everything is working fine now.:)

That's because UT got Al Gore to reconfigure the internet to be compatible with your PC.
