You might call this art.........

........or you might not, but if you're going to throw tomatoes, please make sure they're fresh.
Hyoi • Mar 30, 2007 11:45 am
More of the same. Cabbage is good....throw cabbages.

I don' think I would call it art, but I would call it cool. Well done.

Maybe it is art. Damn if I know.

The top one is my favorite.

Anybody know the old Stone Soup tale?
Hyoi • Mar 30, 2007 11:57 am
Comments, positive or negative, are welcome. These are the result of a retired engineer using very powerful, productive, three dimensional solid modeling software to eff off. Hyoi hope you enjoy.

Hyoi, I like 3 and 4 particularly. The others, like number 1, are disturbing to me because they're not in any setting - there's no background. That doesn't bother me too much with the black as with the lighter colors. Perhaps you could put the vases (?) on a table or cabinet.

Thank you both. For some reason, I have a blast completely misusing powerful engineering software (blasphemous, maybe), so any other suggestions are more than welcome. The possible shapes, colors, surface textures, and lighting are virtually unlimited. The "vases" (I didn't realize they looked like vases but they do) are shown on a round granite table below. Again, the table can assume any configuration you prefer.
HungLikeJesus • Mar 30, 2007 5:45 pm
I see your point. The round one could also be a cooling tower for some futuristic powerplant.

What software are you using?
Hyoi • Mar 30, 2007 6:01 pm
See PM. Aren't you proud of me xo-cubed and UT? No spammimg ! Now if the bastards would pay me, I might risk it.
Hyoi • Apr 29, 2007 9:23 am
.......ever been outside looking in?
Ibby • Apr 29, 2007 10:29 am
Very nice, two thumbs up.

reminds me of some of the fractal art I make...
Hyoi • Apr 29, 2007 4:04 pm
That's quite a compliment coming from one with your talent. But I find myself missing the smell of lindseed oil and turpentine. Do you dabble?
Ibby • Apr 30, 2007 4:44 am
You actually like my fractals?

Wow, thanks.

I made one today I'm fairly happy with: www.deviantart.com/deviation/54293192

Yeah, Ibram. I'm sorry, I should have said so sooner.
Hime • May 2, 2007 10:59 am
Those are really neat. I especially like the "Stone Soup" one. :)

And they sure look like art to me.
Hyoi • May 2, 2007 2:13 pm
Many thanks, Hime. I used this and other software to design and analyze all types of mechanical components and systems for years and years, but until now I've had no opportunity to just eff around with it.

Can I do one for you? Color preferences, shapes, background?
xoxoxoBruce • May 9, 2007 7:54 am
Can you make naked ladies?

An engineered woman. Man oh man.....:yelgreedy , the only problem is where to put the switches.

I'm on it, xo.
