Could not find where I put this orig. and some asked me to take more (closer) pics of the cows... here they are.
There is Christmas stuff on the top of it now, so I could not get closer pics of the ornaments (ironic), the Oz cows or the big angel cow. Sorry.

Cows.

I think the first was in DoDads but you easily have enough cows for a whole new thread.:thumb2:

We stopped years ago... once the cabinet filled, that was it.
Pissed our family off, "you collect those!?" You could see the gift wheels turning, cheap ceramic cows from around the damn world inundating our home every damn chance they got... hell no! We only got one brand, and only the ones we liked. Try explaining that to a bunch of rednecks at Wal-Mart or Cracker barrel at gift season!
Kinda' make a point not to look at them though... there are always cool new ones I want to make an exception for (the Samooorai was one of those).

A cows life is pretty boring so it doesn't take much to arouse their interest or to entertain them. No bull. ;)

That reminds me. I knew I had a picture of Highland Cattle hereabouts.
I took the photo back in 2004 because it's not a breed seen all that often at this end of the UK.
Diversification is always the name of the game in agriculture so perhaps they were an experimental herd.
As that appears to be a Hereford bull in the distance I wonder what the advantages of cross breeding would be in this instance.

Elm Farm Ollie becomes the first cow to fly in a fixed-wing aircraft and also the first cow to be milked in an aircraft.

I wonder why they didn't have the guy that milked her fly the plane?

And has there been a second cow milked in an airplane?
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 18, 2019 8:08 pm
Elm Farm Ollie was reported to have been an unusually productive Guernsey cow, requiring three milkings a day and producing 24 quarts of milk during the flight itself.

I don't believe it, 24 quarts, 6 gallons, from one milking? No way. :headshake
The best cows would give(have ripped from their teats) 9 gallons a day with 3 milkings.

If milk cows were meant to fly, God would have given them a pilot's license.

This makes me think of WKRP in Cincinnati:
