Thank the Troops

Want to send a Holiday thank you to our troops, well one of them anyway.
Xerox has a website where you pick out a card and personalize it. Then Xerox prints them up and distributes them to the troops.

You can't specify a particular soldier or include naked pictures of yourself, but you'll warm someones day. :santa:

It was their vote for Kerry... they were lost at sea.

We're going this direction for charitable giving this yearHomes for Our Troops. You can give a donation in another's name for Christmas.

I wonder how they define "the troops" :eyebrow:
It's not like there's five people sitting somewhere in Balugaluga-land waiting for snailmail to arrive.

Depending on the charity you use, you can usually get pretty specific.

I recently read a newspaper article about Sears Holding Corporation (which owns Sears and Kmart) teaming up with the public charity [501(c)(3) status] USA Cares which is dedicated to needy service members and their families. The charity is listed on the Sears holiday shopping site "readysetholiday" and there is a link to the charity specific web page. Contributors are able to purchase gifts for donation, to service members' families, from a wish list that the families submit to the charity. The wish list is extensive and may be slow to load; but, it appears in its entirety. Many of the items requested are quite modest. This seems to be a worthwhile endeavor for those with little disposable income; but, lots of heart. ;)
