however entire pie-related content has been cut, sliced, and pasted below.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for air travel security, but pie filling? And then they give it to soldiers? :right:

********************

Overall, operations at Hopkins were smooth, [TSA assistant federal security director for Northeast Ohio Rick] DeChant said, but there was at least one unexpected hiccup this week.

"In the last two days, we have taken a dozen baked pies," he said.

Pie filling apparently is banned from carry-on luggage, too. But the pies didn't go to waste. They were taken to the airport's United Service Organizations lounge, where soldiers passing through can relax and eat.

I hope none of those soldiers got sick. :eek3:
Aliantha • Nov 26, 2006 6:38 pm
Maybe they think the pies are poisoned and don't want them being distributed among the passengers? ;)

I can be very dangerous when cornered, I'll have you know.

"I will NOT make a crack about eating pie or pie filling "

Aliantha • Nov 26, 2006 10:33 pm
I like eating pie...specially sweet pie, but meaty pies are nice too.

Now my question is, how is this any different from the military simply taking the pies at gunpoint?
Aliantha • Nov 26, 2006 11:53 pm
I'm always dreaming tw. I meant, besides dreaming. ;)

Maybe they did.
And maybe they did it because they were hungry.
Does nitro glycerine hurt you, if you eat it?

Food fights are created by terrorists. Good thing we have Departement of Fatherland Security so that bin Laden will not throw pies. Coming soon: terrorists will be identified by breast feeding or cuddling on airplanes. Finally the righteous right is there to save us from ourselves. Let Freedom Fries ring.

Okay...if pies are too unsafe to take on a plane, how is it that they are safe for consumption by military personnel? I mean, if it turns out to be a C-4 custard, isn't that bad?
JayMcGee • Nov 27, 2006 8:40 pm
....not as bad as a black pudding.....
footfootfoot • Nov 27, 2006 10:11 pm
I am the pie in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see anymore to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)

Huh! First time I've ever seen tw crack a joke.

"Now take this plane to Bucharest or somebody's really gonna get indigestion!"
Aliantha • Dec 5, 2006 2:16 am

To the journalist...
You don’t think soldiers stealing pies to eat from customers of the airlines by throwing around their weight just to steal, probably from a merchant, harming the economy is “No Glitch”?
This is how they honor the legacy of those fallen, those who’s deaths they are supposedly trying to keep from happen again… instead we are acting like every-other nation that has laws like the (anti)Patriot Acts and secret torture prisons.
Thanks for showing us another example.
