A high-grav beer from Ft. Bragg CA. Tastes like melted choolate put into an Anchor Steam. Not so good. But not so bad either.

I've had an Anchor Steam. It must be "an acquired taste" as they say. However this was some years ago, and I've found that my taste in beer has changed considerably as I've aged. Maybe I would think differently about it now. I'm intigued by the "chocolate" though... You mean a bitter-sweet chocolate, right?

Exactly. Chocolate is becoming a flavor that many brewers are screwing around with. Sam Adams has an insanely expensive chocolate Christmas brew.

The less sugar you put into chocolate, the more its "real" flavor comes out.

For the record, Anchor Brewing is one of my favorites, both the Anchor Steam and the Liberty Ale.

Cheers.
