Too Close For Comfort?

I'm sure many of you out there messed aroung with Google Earth and such. Today I wanted to see my brother's residence, so I went to MSN's local.live.com:

Holy Crap! When you click on "bird's eye" you get pics like above. This is crazy! Cool crazy.

FYI: My bro lives in Watertown, Mass.

[half]That just means the NSA is very interested in your brothers neighborhood. It might be time to move.[/kidding]

Holy Crapoli!

That must be one of those "20 yards" shots. Is that where your freakin live?

I don't think so. I've noticed a bias in the closeness of the pics. I tried to find my sister's house and only got the 90-degree shot. The "bird's eye" won't show if they don't have it.

I see this as a good tool for real estate agents. Seriously. People want to know the neighborhood, and what better a way than a 20-to-40-yard bird's eye view free on the internets. As W says, just go to "the google."

Yup. I'm guessing DC is covered pretty well.

You mean when you try it over your place? It only shows up if they've got the coverage for that area/zoom level.

Zilliow is seriously behind in their pictures. They're showing houses torn down some time ago. :(

Yeah, the photo of my house on Zillow is at least three-and-a-half years old.
