If you had a super power/supernatural ability....

If you had a super power/supernatural ability what would it be, and why?

I would choose teleportation. I'd rather just be there in a flash than have to drive, and it would be easier to get to places if you're needed, but you're far away. It would really make my life a tad more simple.

I'd like to be able to freeze time. That way I could get everything I wanted done, i could make the good times last as long as I wanted to, and then i'd still have time in the day for whatever else.

Perpetual minty fresh breath.

I'd like to have canned heat in my heels, literally.

I would be able to endow anyone with a sense of humor at any time.

I think I'd go with teleportation, but only if I could take someone else along.

That way I could have cheap holidays out of it, and not have my friends hate me if we had a late night drinking session ("Seeya guys! Just think, I'll be drinking a pint of water in bed while you're still waiting for the Night Bus!")

Though the ability to go back in a limited frame of time also appeals - never again thinking "I wish I'd said that at the time!"

The ability to hear (see.. perceive.. whatever) what other people were thinking.

Immunity to old age, injury, or disease.

Teleportation would be fucking awesome!

Imagine on your lunch hour being able to teleport to a beach in Bora Bora where you can eat a sandwich in the shade of a palm tree as the water laps at the sandy shore. Then back to your desk where you can shake the sand out of your shoes into the trash can.

That's cool, but what are you going to do in 4 billion years when the sun burns out and you are the last human? You need an escape clause.
lumberjim • Oct 25, 2006 1:58 pm
cock push ups. i'd win thousands at bars every night

I'd gamble that we have ark ships to escape by then.

The entropic heat death of the universe is another story, though.

Jedi mind control. With that, I can get whatever else I want.
BigV • Oct 25, 2006 6:03 pm
To control time; to exist inside and outside of time.

But I reckon I have that power now, with the ability to learn from history and to live in a way that my legacy is itself remembered. Cool, I'm a superhero!

Controlling electricity. It would be too much fun frying assholes' car stereos, while they're blasting them with the windows wide open.
Happy Monkey • Oct 25, 2006 6:12 pm
So... Hiro Nakamura has five votes, Claire has one, and the cop has one. I'm not sure whether mind control or electric control work with any "Heroes" character yet.
BigV • Oct 25, 2006 6:27 pm
Accidentally tuned in Sunday? to the recap-a-thon of the Heroes show. Anybody else saw that? Am I up to date? I thought it was a cool program.
bluecuracao • Oct 25, 2006 6:55 pm
It IS very cool, though I've only seen the first episode. I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD and watch them all over a weekend, like I do with Lost.
Happy Monkey • Oct 25, 2006 6:58 pm
I didn't watch the recap, but if it was on Sunday, then you missed this Monday's episode, which was the best so far. I'm really digging it.

Watching the season on DVD would be cool, but there's something to be said for actually having to wait a week for the resolution of a cliffhanger.

X-ray vision.

No, I wont say why...
