I made the mistake of contacting my Congressmen about some issues. Now I have been placed on their campaign mailing lists. I received this today from the Weldon campaign.
Even still, the facts remain the same

In 2004, the House Ethics Committee declined to investigate these allegations and closed the case.

Now 3 weeks before the election, the left wing, liberal attack machine has launched a coordinated effort to smear Congressman Weldon and his family in a desperate attempt to steal this seat.

Unfortunately, this smear campaign is a reaction to a two and one-half year old accusation from the partisan political chop shop, CREW, whose Vice President is one of the single largest contributors to Curt's opponent.

Curt Weldon has done nothing wrong other than take strong positions against entrenched Washington Bureaucracies, such as CIA and the State Department, which has created strong enemies.
Now as to item #1, I haven't seen an organization as pitifully toothless as the House Ethics Committee, which has a tendency to dump members who actually appear to care too much about enforcing ethics rules.
Item #4 implies that Curt is a crusader who is under attack by CIA bureaucrats. Since most of the CIA leadership are Bush appointees, I fail to see the logic there.
BTW, I love this phrase. Talk about an oxymoron "left wing, liberal attack machine has launched a coordinated effort". Coordinated liberals?:lol2:
