Buxton, UK -- accomodations?

Mrs. Dallas and a friend plan to take in the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival [warning: page loads music] in Buxton, Derbyshire, England next August. She's wondering if anyone can recommend suitable accomodations for modest lodgings close enough that they won't need a car, and preferably with a mini-kitchen of some kind so they won't have to eat out constantly.

Mrs D shouldn't have any problems, Buxton the main holiday centre of the Peak District and is therefore well appointed for accommodation.

Most importantly, the location is pronounced "DAR-bee-shir" and most certainly not "DIR-bee-shy-err"

Hmm i dropped into Buxton last year for a day. Historic English country town built on mineral springs. Apparently the Romans thought the water bubbling out of the ground was good for you so they built roman baths there and it has been a holiday spot ever since.

Ficking freezing when I was there tho.

But there are numerous old Victorian hotels and guest-houses there, you should be able to find something easily.
