a complaint for the moderators

now, I know that 'spam' is severely frowned upon here, and you mods take your duties very seriously and all, but earlier today i could have sworn that i glimpsed a thread entitled ' Interested in Ukrainian Women?' or something of that nature. I'm sure it was spam, and recognized it as such immediately, but i never got the chance to reply to it. you see, sometimes i think that spam threads make good leaping off points for our own particular idiom of zany replies and comments. maybe you three could excercise a little patience with a spam thread that has as much obvious promise as that one did. knowwaddumsayin? all i am say_____ing ....is give spam a chance.

So ban the poster, leave the post then.

Can we break the links as well?
Undertoad • Sep 24, 2006 8:11 am
That's all well and good, but there are three of us now and we are probably not going to put our heads together to figure out whether a spam is compelling enough to not be deleted. The problem is a horrid one, have you looked at the Entertainment front page for example, without hitting the New Posts button?

Maybe a better idea would be a mocking clone thread if someone sees one with potential.

I expect Jim simply wanted to chat with some of the Ukrainian women.

I agree with jim, I posted my brilliant theory about mail order brides as a solution to all our domestic problems in the ukrainian women thread and now it's gone.

Do not blame me for all our domestic problems.

Break the links, but don't take away our precious opportunities to ridicule spammers. It is one of the ways we set ourselves apart as an higher order of beings.

When in doubt, delete the SPAM. There's too damn much of it.

I'd be all for a Mocking Clone thread as long as we can be sure Carly Simon and James Taylor won't record a song about it.
