Football is back! (um... American football)
The Steelers knocked off the rust and the Dolphins last night, God is in his heaven.
*sigh* All is right with the world...

You calling the all PA Superbowl? Actually the AFC North and NFC East both look brutal this year, it'll be tough sledding.
I'm really interested to see how the Manning vs Manning game goes.
Chiefs have shored up their defense, and now their O-line looks dicey. There is no God. Either that, or she's a Raider fan. Bitch.
Chiefs are 10-6 again. I was thinking 11-5, but then I woke up.
Heck Yeah!! I love me some football!!!!

Ohio State will KICK the asses of Texas tonight, baby!
We're number one! We're number one! :D

There's nothing worse than a fucking Dallas Cowboy beeeee-yotch in Eagle country. Except maybe a Notre Dame fans in Nittany Lion country. But where was I? Oh yeah. Every single Cowgirl fan sucks big fucking elephant dick.
Ohio State will KICK the asses of Texas tonight, baby!
We're number one! We're number one! :D
I don't know what I hate more.. the gloating around here when OSU wins, or the incessant whining when they lose
p.s. go Titans

ohio state certainly will, i can't believe texas is the favorite.
i'm an eagels fan, and i'm optimistic with the team, mcnabb will have his best season this year, i'm sure of it. the division is too good though, i mean look at dallas this year, and the giants are really really good, and portis is unstopable. washington will be a factor if portis remains healthy, so although the eagels look great, this division is impossible, i mean, who will finish last, it seems as though philadelphia is the favorites along with the redskins maybe.
hey...cowboys are not a sure thing, imo they could just as easily finish 3rd in this one.
i predict the chargers to just take out the broncos in that chase, chiefs are finished.
is arizona really that good, can they take it from holmgreen this year.
look out for an improved bills team, that 9,5 point spread for the patriots in game 1 look like a lot.
i think one of the main things to watch in these first couple weeks is the bears offence...if its improved, watch out...cause the deffence is way too good, they could go all the way ..lets see how the offence runs.
Portis has had probs with health. He's not a sure bet. The Giants look good, but a lot will depend on Manning. Same with Chargers. Good team but a big question mark at QB since Rivers will be put to the test. AZ certainly has the potential, but things fall apart in the desert a lot. I'll say that if Warner doesn't make dumb mistakes they'll go far.

Mind you I was born in SoCal.. so I can't wait to get out of this freaking state
plus I went to OU for a year so that's icing on the anti-OSU cake ;)
But they did kick some southern booty tonight I will admit
That Steelers game was really something. Also, first time I joined a fantasy football team, did lousy in the draft. But, then my TE Heath Miller gets me 18 pts with 101 yards and the longest TD by a TE in 32 years. And the wimpiest red flag throw by a head coach in NFL history. Ya gotta love beginners luck.
Going to the Chargers at Raiders monday night. SD has some (bullet) holes in their D. Raiders will be lucky to get to 500 this year.
WE'RE NUMBER ONE! All others are number two, or lower!
*cackles with glee*
Hahahahahaha!!
Chiefs looked like shit today. Green got his head accelerated/decelerated in particularly nasty fashion. Definite brain pudding for him for a few weeks. Offensive line sucked badly. Tony Gonzalez is a badass, though, as is Larry Johnson.
yeah, the chiefs offensive line is not what it was and as a result, the chiefs will be fighting for third with oakland, forget about it, that was the chiefs huge weapon these past years, and now, whats left.
The Eagles returned to being the team they were 2-3 years ago. They systematically cut the Texans apart. The O and D lines were perfect. McNabb looked back in form. Game on!
Jacksonville gave the league a tape on how to beat Dallas: rattle Bledsoe and he doesn't have enough time or poise to find deep receivers and throws lousy passes and gets intercepted.
I'm still trying to figure if the Rams defense was that good or the Broncos offense was that bad.
Given that work does not have and will not get cable, I am mourning the loss of Monday Night Football.
Bears are top in the NFC, I don't how they will fare against the Chargers but that would be a good superbowl game.
oooo. i could kiiiillllll drew bledsoe

I'm an Eagels fan too, and I knew that Donovan would have his best year, but I didn't think he would be this good!!
Now if it wasn't for The Chicago Bears, I would be sure that Philadelphia would make it to the superbowl this year.
Well, if they don't make it to the superbowl, they'll make it to the NFC Championship match or sure!! GOOOOOOOO EAGELS!!!!!!!!!!
Football is finished here for another year...thank God! Except for the representative season which is just begining...blah blah blah. Looks like I need to keep that wine cellar stocked after all...
Did anyone watch the Chiefs game last Sunday and, if you did, did you see the L Johnson tackle where it looked like his neck got broken (at least to me)?
I was wondering because I want to know if the guy got fined? If not, he should have.
I didn't see it but I heard that he wasn't fined.
No fine, but man, that scared the piss out of me. LJ is a frigging stud, that's for sure. Dude turned him into an owl for a second, there. It was a cheap tackle, but all the Chiefs got out of it was half the distance to the goal line. LJ was gone for a TD when the guy nailed him (they did score in the end, but still...). He already had 79 yards on the screen play (longest reception of his career), and would have taken the last 8 yards if he hadn't been snagged like a paddlefish first. Maybe I'm a bit of a Local Booster, but I think you could make a pretty good case for Larry Johnson being the best guy in football right now, if you consider his performance from last year to present.
LJ is listed as Probable against the Steelers this weekend. Gonna be a tough one for us. Besides Green still recovering from having his head slammed to the turf, we have a starting offensive lineman out and a starting cornerback out.

I'm sure jinx would agree with you. :)

Have you seen my Steelers this year... not too tough yet. :(
It's the post Super Bowl slump, and no T.O. to blame it all on.
If I played bobblehead across somebodies windshield, I might not have a keen edge on the field for a while either. The tough part is the division is getting better just when Pitt needs to develop a new offensive scheme.
Even though I am a Chiefs diehard, I want to tell all you Steelers fans that, if there's any team that you'd like to face to start pulling out of a bad start, it is the Chiefs. They are uneven, missing their starting QB, have a highly questionable O-line for the second stringer to play behind, they're relying heavily on a single running back who just got this head half ripped off, their Godlike tight end Gonzalez is never open anymore to help out the short game, and our apparently badass defense is just beginning to really jel, and could easily take a misstep.
However...the Chiefs are not patsies by any means, and have actually done pretty well given all their gaping shortcomings. They're playing with a lot of zip and confidence, keeping the penalty yards low and doing a lot with what they've got. If the Steelers beat them, they can feel real good about themselves. If the Steelers lose, they won't have lost to a dogshit team, either.
Could be a big game for both teams. After all, we started out 0-2.
Joey Porter is out. Wait till you see who they're gonna suit up...
Well, all of a sudden the Steelers are just one loss behind Cincy and Balti.:)
Cincy has a tough matchup against Carolina next week. Things will be close if Big Ben keeps playing like he did this Sunday.
It looked like they freaking invented football Sunday. The offensive line is the key.

It scared me too Elspode. I've seen a lot of injuries and whatnot just in general, but my heart has never jumped out of my chest like it did with that blatant face mask tackle. I don't think I've ever seen a body get twisted around like that either, and knowing that LJ is a big dude, I just knew something bad happened. I guess he felt better...I mean, he did tackle polywhateverhisnameis by his long bushy hair. :(
..I mean, he did tackle polywhateverhisnameis by his long bushy hair. :(
It's one thing to tackle a guy by his hair. It's a Personal Foul when you get up from the tackle and pull it once more for head punishment while the guy is down.
That after-the-play ringing of the hair was a totally classless move for a guy like LJ.
I have the jersey for Polamalu and I will wear at in Oakland when the Steelers visit on Halloween weekend.
Yeah, RS, I didn't see the aftermath, nor do I condone LJ for his behavior...that's what the sad face was for.
Polamalu was asked about it and said, ""It really doesn't matter to me. He can tackle me by my hair or my ankles. It doesn't matter. I understand the nature of the game. A lot of things like that can happen," He is a tough guy and he had a huge game.
LJ said that his hand just got tangled when he tried to let go. Pol's hair *is* pretty interesting, and he *is* a badass, much the same as LJ. They are both excellent athletes at the top of their respective games. I tend to believe that it was just one of those weird things.
Chiefs sure got their asses handed to them, though. Sigh.
They did get their asses handed to them Elspode, but I will continue to love them and watch them just the same. Do you ever go to any of their games?
