Rapture Indext at 158!!! :worried:

Pangloss62 • Aug 8, 2006 4:03 pm
Holy Shite!! I had no idea it was so high!

Anything above 145 is EXTREME DANGER!

Rapture Index of 85 and Below: Slow prophetic activity
Rapture Index of 85 to 110: Moderate prophetic activity
Rapture Index of 110 to 145: Heavy prophetic activity
Rapture Index above 145: Fasten your seat belts

What's good about this index is that it's objective and quantifiable, looking at measurable factors such as "liberalism" and the "supernatural." All the categories are listed below. Is it accurate? Well, like they say at http://www.raptureready.org/, the index is like "a Dow Jones Industrial Average of end time activity."

False Christs
Occult
Satanism
Unemployment
Inflation
Interest Rates
The Economy
Oil Supply/Price
Debt and Trade
Financial unrest
Leadership
Drug abuse
Apostasy
Supernatural
Moral Standards
Anti-Christian
Crime Rate
Ecumenism
Globalism
Tribulation Temple
Anti-Semitism
Israel
Gog (Russia)
Persia (Iran)
The False Prophet
Nuclear Nations
Global Turmoil
Arms Proliferation
Liberalism
The Peace Process
Kings of the East
Mark of the Beast
Beast Government
The Antichrist
Date Settings
Volcanoes
Earthquakes
Wild Weather
Civil Rights
Famine
Drought
Plagues
Climate
Food Supply
Floods

It was nice knowing you guys.:reaper:

I hate those "car will be unmanned" stickers.
Pangloss62 • Aug 8, 2006 4:26 pm
Hey Kit. Did you see the Daily Show's take on Florida the other night? You've got some real nutjobs down there. Ever been to Vernon, FL?

Nope! I'll check the tivo-thingy tonight, though!

Let me assure you: not only do I know this and am comfortable with it, it is one of the reasons I live here. Endless, free, often hilarious entertainment. Florida is rarely boring and I love it.

How do they know if The Rapture Index is comparable to the Dow Jones? They have no measure of its reliability until it is no longer needed, kind of like the Doomsday Clock that the scientist guys have.
Kitsune • Aug 8, 2006 5:31 pm
Well, take a quote from their own site:

The rapture is going to strike without warning.

The rapture is going to happen suddenly.

...so they're going to try to predict it with an index?
Elspode • Aug 8, 2006 5:41 pm
I think the only thing the Rapture Index measures is the amount of things in the world that the fundies find to be naughty in the sight of their god.
Kitsune • Aug 8, 2006 5:49 pm
My favorite theory: the rapture already happened. The number of people escorted to heaven was so small only the direct families of them noticed and filed a missing persons report. All three of them are currently enjoying the fruits of the afterlife while the police on earth have already pushed their file into storage.
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 8, 2006 7:36 pm
Are they the ones that were supposedly carried off in spaceships? :worried:
MsSparkie • Aug 8, 2006 9:57 pm
Not if they had their tin foil hats on.

Help me out here -

32 Mark of the Beast:
The U.S. Patriot Act has failed to get enough votes for extension.

How is this connected with The Mark of the Beast?

W is the anti-Christ. He needs all the power we can give him so he can bring about Armageddon er something.:3eye:

Argh - am too ignorant to know if you are joking!

This forum certainly opens my eyes - I never realised that in the US "conservative" equates with "Christian". Over here "Conservative" is a right wing bias, "conservative" is careful - no God involved at all).
Pangloss62 • Aug 9, 2006 1:26 pm

Yeah Sundae, I know what you mean. I wish we were more like England in that regard. I listen to a lot of BBC programming and enjoy your culture a whole bunch Who's that comedian, Eddy Izzard? That guy cracks me up.:lol2: And watching your Parliment can be very entertaining, unlike our dreary Congress and Senate.
Griff • Aug 9, 2006 1:27 pm
I am joking. Christian and conservative are not lockstep here either. The Republicans needed more voters so they have herded a bunch of disparate groups into the party, like the Christian Right folks who from my experience are nice enough in real life but should never have even a little political power. Basically they threw the libertarian wing under the bus and have had great success ever since. Great for the GOP that is, not the country.

I adore Eddie Izzard :)

You're quite right about the entertainment value of Parliament - pure pantomime.

Tcha. Love my country because I was born here, but part of me would like to be somewhere else at times...

Aha - thanks for the clarification. I was going on http://www.conservative-kids.com/ from the Key Links thread. Shocked me blind!

The goal is to stay in power so you can make the most money possible. Can you say "Haliburton"? Can you say "Big Oil"?

Service to the best interests of the Nation doesn't enter into it. The theory is more along the lines of "whatever is good for me and my cronies is good for the nation, too. After all, *we're* getting richer, so everyone else must be, too."

Pffft!
Hagar • Aug 9, 2006 4:32 pm
So long as the "Raptor Index" stays low, I think we're ok.

...pesky raptors

I believe in that trickle down threory.....when I get rich I'm gonna piss on everyone, too.
In the mean time, I'll just piss 'em off.

Have you seen Jurassic Park? Those raptors are quite annoying. I wouldn't piss them off if I was you.
rkzenrage • Aug 14, 2006 1:28 am
BTW, there is nothing Biblical about the rapture... it was "invented" by a nutty minister in England a while back and adopted by the Calvinists.
It is just an urban myth.
Aliantha • Aug 14, 2006 1:43 am
Pangloss...if you think British politics is entertaining, you should have a butchers cook at Australian parliamentary sittings recently. A couple of weeks ago, someone took in a toy chicken and used it to taunt a minister from the other side of the floor.

Last week our federal opposition leader was called a 'fat so an so' on the steps of parliment by a minister from the governing party. That was after Mr Tucky was told to 'go take his tablets' by the opposition leader.

I tell you, it's all fun and games till someone loses an eye!
Ibby • Aug 14, 2006 3:48 am
And that's why I love Australia. Politics isn't so much a battle as a game. Everyone's so cool and rad there that they know whatever happens it'll be fine, so they just have a good time of it!

A butchers cook? :mg:

Same as a "Captain Cook", or a "Geezer", or a "Gander" for that matter.

:D

Butcher's Hook surely?
