Very Sour Candies...

I admit. I'd been fooled. SweetHarts Sour is NOTHING like Sour Patch Kids.

There, ya bastard. happy?

They haven't made a candy that was sour enough to suit me yet. Sour Patch Kids are...well, they're child's play. Or eating.

You need to stop using that word. I'm beginning to remember how old you are.:headshake

The hospital gift shop at Presbyterian had a number of retro candies available. I was too preoccupied with the pretzel selection to notice this, but my sister hit it. Luckily, she also does not like things like Neeco Wafers. She scored a box of Lemonheads. After a fairly gentle lemony intro, those bad boys get some sour on.

Lemonheads are real candy. As are NECCO wafers.

Warheads, while cool, are just regular candies dipped in absorbic acid.

hey, 'warheads pwn' was more the meaning i was looking for than 'warheads are cool', you know? and 'own' sucks, pwn is the only way to spell it.

Hey, yeah! LemonHeads! Plus, I always liked their music...

I am a fan of the Altoids Sours and Lemonheads.

WTF is pwn?
Trilby • Jul 26, 2006 12:12 pm
SweetHarts Shockers are pretty sour---however, one of the ingredients is 'carmine color' which is a bug--a BUG--that they grind up to give foods red, blue and purple colors. So. I won't be eating them anytime soon.

My guess is that over 90% of the food you eat contains bugs, live or dead, ground up or whole.

it's leetspeak for "own." If you own something you are superior to it. So if something owns it is superiour.

Leet is a kind of slang where typos and similar characters are used to represent real words.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leetspeak for more info.

OOOOooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhh....

Yikes. I'm feeling my age now. I guess I have seen/used simple leetspeak but didn't know there was so much, or how old it was. Thanks. Wikipedia r0x

As a person who doesn't like spicy or sour foods, could someone explain to me what makes them so appealing? Don't they give some minute kind of pain or discomfort? I'm going to stick with my tame little Skittles and Jolly Ranchers.
Clodfobble • Jul 26, 2006 1:16 pm
Small pain or discomfort can also trigger an endorphin rush.

The Cracker Barrel chain has a great selection of vintage candies, as well as other snack food type items, in the little gift shop in the lobby of the restaurant. I get those coconut bars with the three colored stripes there.

I am allergic to coconut. But I did have paroxysms of joy in the Cracker Barrel Gift Shoppe upon finding BBBBats and honest-to-goodness rock candy in a box without coloring, flavoring, or strings.

On second thought, it was either paroxysms of joy or the prequelae of a heart attack brought on by chicken fried steak, two fried eggs over easy, home fried potatoes, grits, and biscuits with butter and gravy.

I have not dared to try them yet, but I'm told they will definitely clear your sinuses. Our fans in Europe all want to try them just to say they survived the experience.
