thunder5 sends along this link, which looks like a forum in Brazil documenting a Chinese practice. This here culture is world-wide! Well, let the Cellar IotD be the English language documentarian.

Looks like they are practicing on the pigs. Practice makes perfect.

Pig IoTDs have previously filled me with nothing bu delight. Not 100% sure about this one....

I may have to send the picture of the Louis Vuitton pigs to a few friends claiming it is a new design range - see if I convince them they're this season's must have.

Think how relieved they'll be when they realise they're just foreign fakes.

The one on top looks like it has a nasty skin condition. Guess that's what you get for wallowing in shit all day.
Trilby • Jul 5, 2006 1:21 pm
I'd like a tattoo of a hog on a hog.

Get it? A hog on a hog---get it?

Ah-hahahahahahahahaha!

i crack myself up.

The pig looks drugged, man.
Jordon • Jul 5, 2006 1:50 pm
This way they get more guys with Harleys.

Man, Charlotte would be pissed.

Nothing worse than seeing asian characters tattooed on a pig. I mean, the pig probably doesn't even know what they mean and got them just to look cool...

The average pig in China lives 6 months. :yum:
These pigs, being "art objects", will die of old age then their skins will become wall art. So, he's actually doing them a favor.......in theory.
Shawnee123 • Jul 5, 2006 4:54 pm
Now I'm wondering how long the "average" pig (which doesn't include Wilbur who was "some pig") lives here in the US, or worldwide for that matter!
rkzenrage • Jul 5, 2006 4:56 pm
I'd tattoo the cuts of meat all over it.

I'd guess 6 months is a fair bet. ;)

I was just about to when you beat me to it.
Sperlock • Jul 5, 2006 9:44 pm
And not one "Some Pig" anywhere to be found. ;)

No pig skin in footballs. :headshake
jinx • Jul 5, 2006 10:24 pm
But there is pig in soup.
xant • Jul 6, 2006 12:15 am
Actually seems odd that this practice isn't universal. I can't think of a better way for a tattoo artist to learn how to tattoo.

Brianna - Gro-o-o-o-a-a-a-nnnnn .... :greenface

However .. If you click on the original site link, the bottom pic shows a pig with the winged H-D emblem tattoed on it .. is that close enough?? .. :)

Now .. what disturbs me is how much pain those poor pigs are being subjected to? .. where's PETA when ya need 'em??? .....

Oh, yes ... that's right ... they're currently running semi-naked around Spain, in support of banning Bullfighting ..
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 6, 2006 4:35 am
The vet puts the pigs out for two hours every third day. Not much pain.
I don't think PETA is real big in China. ;)

No but that is their distant future....all that shit. Hang onto your hats guys, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Welcome to the world.

hi!
it's belgian artist, Wim Delvoye.
you can see a part of his work here-->:
http://www.wimdelvoye.be/

his work is, to me, very funny and humourous!

he has also build a "cloaka" machine, a machine that produce shit!
you can see the work here--<:
http://www.cloaca.be/

the pigs are safe and "asleep" when tattoed.
sorry for my bad english;)
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 11, 2006 10:51 am
Welcome to the Cellar, Sunny. :D
Nice clear pictures in that link. I read in one of the internet stories that the pigs get to go out and play in the grass when Delvoye visits the farm. I hope that long grass doesn't mean they don't get out of the concrete pens very often.

The "cloaka" is hard to call art, more like the invention of a mad scientist.

Oh, and your English is fine.

I particularly like the Disneyesque signature.
