Port Hueneme and Shipborne "Nitro's For You"

Welp, li'l ole P.H. is live on the national news. I think I just heard a news helo overhead. The Port of Hueneme -- No. 3 port in California and the one seaport between Long Beach and San Francisco Bay -- is closed down as I type, and traffic a block away is fouled up, while the bomb dogs and the Coast Guard see if there's anything to a scrawled graffito within a cargo hold that reads, "G.W., this nitroglycerin's for you and your Jewish buddies." The ship is a Guatemalan-registered banana boat; no word on what language the writing was in. I doubt there was any nitroglycerin on the cargo manifest.

This is within walking distance of my living room -- but somehow I'm not expecting to hear any loud boom.

Developing...

And now the port's back open, the excitement is presumably fading, and no loud noises.

After about four or five variations given during the news coverage on the message scribbled on a stanchion in the banana boat's hold, the final version seems to be "Nitro + glycerin my gift for G.W. Bush and his Jewish gang."

Terrorists? Nope, not foreign ones anyway. But Ventura County does have neo-nazi skinheads and it looks like at least one of these is stinking up the local longshoremen's union.

Not developing any more.
