Who said it?

"I fear that in the run-up to the... election, the [opposition] is considering what is tantamount to a cut-and-run strategy.

"Their sudden embrace of accelerated Iraqification and American troop withdrawal dates, without adequate stability, is an invitation to failure. The hard work of rebuilding Iraq must not be dictated by the schedule of the next American election."

No, it was John Kerry, on December 3, 2003, speaking to the Council on Foreign Relations

Times change, circumstances change, we learn from experience, we are exposed to new information. If that doesn't sometimes cause us to change our position on a given topic, nothing will. And if you don't make changes based on new information, you must not be thinking - you stagnate and die. I'm satisfied with Kerry changing his view. I'm not satisfied with W not changing, when things have turned out so poorly.

Or it could all just be political posturing.
