Texas Catfish

slang • Jun 20, 2006 4:21 pm
There is a pond here that has some pretty good sized catfish in it. I've taken some decent photos of them but this computer will not allow me to resize the photos into posting range.

This one is a bit over 2 feet long and weighs in at about 12 lbs. It was caught and released last week but I wasnt there to get the photo.

are those slices of Wonder bread for bait?
slang • Jun 20, 2006 4:33 pm
The arrow here shows the fin on the catfish. It's swimming into the weeds to scoop up a bait cracker that is floating on the surface.

The catfish likes.....

saltine crackers
chocolate covered graham crackers (from Walmart )
cheap azz dried soup in a cup (forget the name but it's popular)

Might just as well not even take photos until I get my own f**king laptop.

JFCA. What a third world POS this is. No effing memory..no processor speed...not even the simplest of bundled programs functional.

:rattat: :rattat: :rattat:

Over and out from Texas.

It's busy eating a Big Mac that I tossed into the lake. I let him use my phone the other day. We're getting to be good friends. We've already had the "no one drives my car" talk, just to set some boundries here.

Seriously, That first photo shows it better than the second. It's frustrating that there are several good sized shots that are looking more like a fish but are stuck in my camera.

Like Bruce says though....any volunteers?

Yes.

Sluefoot Sue was a beautiful girl who came riding down the river on the back of a fish. When Pecos Bill saw her, his belly did flip-flops. So, he asked Sluefoot Sue for her hand in marriage, and she agreed. But she had two demands.

First, she wanted a bouncy bustle (It was the latest style). Second, she wanted to ride Widowmaker. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out. As soon as Sluefoot Sue was mounted in the saddle, Widowmaker started bucking.

Sluefoot Sue’s bouncy bustle caused her to bounce higher and higher until the reins broke, and she was bucked into the sky never to be seen again. Thus, she was punished for three separate crimes: vanity, conduct unbecoming a lady, and getting between a man and his horse.

Catfish update:

Our friendship seems to have quickly turned and now he is demanding very specific foods for photo ops.

This is a very common phase in early relationships. He wants you to know that you need him more than he needs you.

Should we move this thread to the relationship section?

Yes. He was very condiscending in our brief interaction as well. It seems as if he's interviewing me in some way. :tinfoil:

Slang is once again being persecuted by God's creatures. Is there a DSM IV entry for this?

Update from the weekend;

Someone caught one of the catfish and this seems to have humbled the lot of them.

It was about 2'-2'3". The policy is catch and release.

His attitude has changed entirely since we fitted him with a red jump suit and tied his feelers.

How does he like picking trash?
slang • Jul 3, 2006 1:31 pm
He surely doesnt care for it but only speaks Spanish so the details of the complaints are lost.

Did he say that he was framed, or did he just lay there gasping?
