6/2/2006: More tiger with piglets

Neatorama notes these images and says the images have been seen but the story hadn't. IotD had the story at the time, and one of the first pictures, but not this collection of much better shots which I hadn't seen before. And if you haven't seen them before, they'll be new to you. The original story:

[FONT=Arial,Helvetica] Happy Friday. Normally a tiger couldn't resist chowing down on the great feast of young piglets; savory ham is a fine meal. But this tiger, or I guess tigress, was born in captivity and breast-fed by a female pig for four months after her birth. So she likes pigs!

Her name is Sai Mai, and this is a zoo 50 miles east of Bangkok.

Call it a "remake" since it isn't a sequel, but these are worth seeing in any case.

Why the tiger-striped vests? Is that what all the fashionable piggies are wearing this season?

I didn't see it in TFA. Besides providing us with cute Friday pictures, I wonder what was the point of this experiment?

The animals in the show were smacked in the face with the pole fairly regularly and most seemed to have drastic weakness in their hind legs. It was a painful display to watch. The elephant show was equally disturbing. Wandering behind the stage before the performance, one witnessed chained elephants, tethered to the ground by a two-foot chain, swaying back and forth. One elephant had a long, deep scar across his ear; another across her trunk.

Those pictures are incredible!

The one second from the right in the first picture is clearly the smart one who knows that teats aren't found on the tiger's back.
