-----------------------------------------------------------------------

To play. To learn something. To rub elbows with like minded beings.

"Do be a Do Bee, don't be a Don't Bee", from Romper Room.

Because it allows me to work like a wild bastard to the point of mental breakdown, then to take enough time off to go somewhere interesting/different to recover.

All without filling out a "request for vacation time" form.

Because ....

'They fuck you up , your mum and dad.
They may not mean to but they do.
They fill you up with the faults they had
And add some extra just for you .

But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats .

Man hands on misery to man .
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Go out as early as you can ,
And don't have any kids yourself ' .

Respects to Philip Larkin .
Trilby • Jun 7, 2006 7:40 am
I did my second paper on Larkin's "Church Going"--lots of good, witchy images in that one.

I do what I do because I flipped out doing what I used to do and can't do it anymore. wolf would understand.

Ok. Are you referring to Philip Larkin or my general reputation and if you ARE referring to the latter, what the hell? Does everyone know my rep? Oh, well. 'Tis better to have loved and lost than something-something. As for your question, I sorta will keep Larkin' around as I like him despite his gloomy outlook on almost everything (makes a case for why one shouldn't be an atheist) and if I ever find a good man, you guys will be the first to know.
