It's the close at the top of Cockburn St that leads down to the train station
just off the High St..
The tape has caused a lot of red faces within the local council and the police due to articles in the press,with the festival coming up..
Not quite the Tartan and shortbread image of Edinburgh that sells the hotel rooms...
Ah--never mind, my Scottish brother. That could be any night in Pittsburgh or Cincinnati. No worries. Brothers under the skin! And, that chick could really take a 'gate', couldn't she?
And, anyway, TRAINSPOTTING left a permanent distaste for the Festival in this Yank's...er, mouth. Grins!*

I thought it might make a good music video for "tubthumping", esp the part where he throws the barricade at the chick, but then we see her up on her feet again. (I get knocked down, but I get up again,etc.)
