Moderator voting thread
Please vote for no more than two people, to be Cellar moderators through the end of the year. The top two will be selected.
Again, the term of this office will be through 12/31/2006. At the end of the term, we should discuss whether the system works, whether the number of mods is right, etc. Then we should have the next election.
From the nomination thread, the job:
One would be added to the list of email addresses that get notified when someone reports a post. One would remove spam and forum abuse and things like this.
Moderators can do the following:
- Edit, move, delete posts
- Edit, move, copy, open/close threads
- Post announcements (make posts "sticky" at the top of the forum)
- Ban users
They cannot:
- See real IP addresses
- See hidden user profile information
This is not a popularity contest but a way to figure out who should have additional power for the benefit of the community. Full disclosure: although I have the ability to see who voted for whom, I won't peek, I sincerely promise.
Hopefully I did not miss any more nomination acceptances from the nomination thread...

I'm still unclear how the Electoral College is going to be handling things, but I guess we can deal with that after the popular vote is over.
Well it should go smoothly, I have arranged for the final vote to be counted by Diebold.
Pundits are already predicting what Bruce will say in his acceptance speech. My understanding is that he is going to crack down on illegal immigrants to the cellar.

It would be a big help if anybody spots a spam post, to click on the little red & white triangle at the bottom left of the post. A window will pop up then just type spam and hit send. Actually easier than making a post calling it spam. :D

Most of us didn't even know what the red & white triangle was for. This moderator process educates the entire community.
