Audiogalaxy is back up and running

Seriously, and I have info that this time it will be fixed for good, and also it will have some changes.
Just informing the AG'ers here.

It's Rhapsody.

Audiogalaxy is dead. Remember the day we mourned?
TiddyBaby • Apr 8, 2006 11:38 pm
I support Rhapsody.... (well it doesn't hurt I also have software that records anything my puter plays, even if the complete albums available/played aren't suppose to be downloaded)

Mostly, I can use Rhapsody for better sound sample or just digging around out of curiosity, than say, those micky mouse lo-fi crap that Allmusic or Amazon sends you to.

But check this out.... you can still download a satillite

I wouldn't feel I had to go in to all this if my privacy had been respected by agers but that has never been the case.
I unverified all my names a year ago.

Bait and be baited was a hard habit to put down. I liked some agers but most I couldn't understand. I am sorry for that. I am not sorry to leave all the hacking, lying and smearing gossip which they are obviously not able to let go of still. weird.

I wanted a forum to have a fun and play. I place that used mutual respect without all this residual tension. I thought this place seemed to be respectful enough to it's members. I appologize again for it spilling over here. It didn't have to.

I am wondering who after a year of being gone is still obsessed enough with me to care who skysidhe was. ?????? As if revealing a user who left AG for the kind of things AG is infamous for might rub off here. My baaaad reputation. lol
I asked one person point blank aready how they knew with no answer as yet.

I am not upset about it. It's the usual for AG. Id just like to know who.

I was told that soundchain is where most of the agers fled. http://www.soundchain.com/index.php?sec=g_forums&forum=1&mbpage=9&mbpage=10&mbpage=11&mbpage=10&mbpage=9&mbpage=8&mbpage=7&mbpage=6&mbpage=4&mbpage=5&mbpage=4&mbpage=3&mbpage=2&mbpage=1&mbpage=0&mbpage=5&mbpage=7

This idea of all people "from" a certain website acting in a collective fashion is disturbing. We might as well say all people of a certain ethnicity/religion/gender exhibit a particular negative/positive behavior. People are people (and yes, I am quoting Depeche Mode). No matter where you go, everyone has their own individual agenda. That's true here, there, and everywhere (and yes, I am quoting The Beatles).

I like both sites. Diversity of interaction encourages growth. I'll probably be posting "here" more than "there" - so get your ignore buttons warmed up if you don't like to think.

Had you not slagged off all of ag, no one would have noticed you. No one is coming at you like they were on ag (i was unverified myself at the time), you are the one consistantly making yourself known as an "AG'er". Perhaps stop slagging ag off and you will melt into the pot in which you so desire.

All the above aside, it's pretty well accepted, and proven, that individuals, who may well in normal circumstances have differences and take odds with each other within their own 'society', when faced with a common cause will forget their differences and present a united front. Nothing disturbing in that - more disturbing if it was not then case.

This 'united front' is most commonly illustrated in times of war and aggression, and a less fatal example would be the way the unusual arrival (onslaught?) of the AG dwellars was countered by the members of the Cellar -you could almost in those early days describe two distinct and opposing camps and cultures - it was easy to generalise. With time the individual personalities revealed themselves and the generalisation of two distinct camps mellowed - individual views and arguments now blur and dilute the first impression of there being two separate and opposing sets of people (perhaps they could have been described as two different societies...).

So, we are all individuals who share certain ideals (our society). We don't generally feel the need to broadcast what our ideals are, we more or less take them as read and for granted by virtue of the type of people we prefer to mix with (mostly sharing simliar views and interests but capable of debating and arguing in those areas where there are differences). But if we are tested or threatened then we will certainly band together to protect our common ideals and the things we hold dear.i

Flint wrote:

Of course. But individuals distinguish themselves by how they react when moving from one set of cultural expectations to another. When all the AG people came over, they all acted in a certain way. Not because they weren't individuals, but because that's what they were used to.
This idea of all people "from" a certain website acting in a collective fashion is disturbing.
Yes, it was. Luckily, that phase is mostly over now, save for a bit of "oh, I'm so persecuted because I'm diverse and make people think and they don't like to think so they pick on me". Hopefully, that will eventually pass as well.
Flint • Apr 10, 2006 12:34 pm
The irony, in this thread, is that I brought up website culture in reply to a former AGer who apparently had trouble fitting in at AudioGalaxy (according tho their own words - I had no idea that this was their perception). SO, the perpetuation of the subject was due to an exchange between two individuals "from" the same website.

Nice schmice. People felt real at AG. And I never had a problem on that message board. If someone wanted to give me shit, I'd just ignore them (without using the ignore feature - so I could occasionally respond and frustrate if necessary), and watch them lose their power. I don't know anyone off that board, never did any extensive emailing with anyone, never IM with anyone from AG. But I liked being there because the responses felt real. Not sugar coated and always polite. Sure there was a certain screening process, you had to tune out those trolls trying to get under your skin, but that was easily done. I also screened out some super nice people too.

Huh? I don't "hate" you. I just have trouble understanding you. And if you think I "hate" you - then you must have trouble understanding me, too. I'm sorry that you habitually misinterpret me (and refuse to accept my explanations/clarifications), I'm sorry that you feel the need to put words in my mouth. I'm sorry that you read way too much into everything, because it looks like this causes you considerable distress, spinning your wheels in reaction to imaginary drama which you yourself have invented. I'm not arguing with you. I have only had nice things to say about you, but you refuse to accept the fact that I don't dislike you. You insist that we are enemies, we aren't, except in your head. All I am doing is responding to the accusations you are making against me, and I've been responding politely and in a spirit of making friends, but you refuse to accept this. I am giving you the "thoughtful consideration" of continuing this converstaion, even though you are making it nearly impossible. Are you getting any of this? This is a problem created and perpetuated by you.

You won't use smilies but you'll use bold, italics, and underscore like a mother-F'er.

All one needs to do is consult Occam's Razor to verify the veracity of this claim. Instantly, one is unable to imagine any alternate theories.

I already use pandora, playlist, and grooveshark. Is this substantially better?

Broseph, I have no idea. When I was on AudioGalaxy it was a p2p filesharing site.
