Gonna have to come down to a poll

Which do you prefer... the old timestamps on listings of posts and threads, where you'd mostly seen the time they were posted; or the new method, where you see the "1 hour ago" or such telling you how long it's been since the last post?

Is it possible to have both? In either case, if you want to know the other, you have to do yucky time arithmetic.
Undertoad • Mar 15, 2006 5:13 pm
Nope, they only give us the options "Normal" , "Yesterday/Today", and "Detailed". We used to be on "Yesterday/Today", which would give you those if it was yesterday or today. Now we're on "Detailed".

Damifino, But I liked the old way better.

The space that it's in is so spacious that I can't help but vote for option 5: take a quick peek at the PHP and hack the two together, one after another.
Kagen4o4 • Mar 15, 2006 9:19 pm
how long ago is better
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 15, 2006 9:20 pm
Detailed.:notworthy

I think I tied it up between the old way and not giving a rat's ass with my vote at 22.22%.

I like it the way I found it. I don't know anything else.

It's user friendly, organized and clean.

I don't think clean is the right word but hey I just got up.

Detailed is nice. If I look at a post and it says it was posted 5 days ago, then I can say: "There is no reason to look at that thread."
Kagen4o4 • Apr 20, 2006 12:42 am
unless you know you havent been on for 5 days.
Brett's Honey • Apr 20, 2006 2:16 am
the new way
footfootfoot • Apr 20, 2006 9:13 am
the new way, that way we can be sure we are getting oven fesh posts and we aren't paying full price for day old posts, which should be at least 50% off. I think a "sell by" date would be nice too.
skysidhe • Apr 20, 2006 9:57 am
Either is good. I am easy to please.

I was wondering about that term 'rats hind in' In mm just how much of a care is that?

Maybe a space of about this much? ( - )

At first I disliked it. CHANGE! ACK!!

Now, I prefer it.
glatt • May 3, 2006 10:48 am
At first I disliked it. Now, in hindsight, I dislike it a little bit more. It feels less precise.

But as a liberal, I'm used to being out-voted. So it's cool.
xoxoxoBruce • May 3, 2006 8:03 pm
How about if it stays this way, but if you mouse-over the post, a pop-up gives the time stamp and if you've already read the post it sends 100 volts to the seat of your chair? ;)
Kagen4o4 • May 3, 2006 8:35 pm
make it 1000 and youve got a deal
BigV • May 24, 2006 8:16 pm
Detailed.
