Maybe a big one is older and has been wearing its teeth down longer.

It could be a Pacu, he said he was fishing for Carp, so he might have been using a baitball. That's something a Pacu, especially that size, might gobble whole.

Definitely Pacu. And not a very big one (they get to be 60lbs or more), if somewhat out of its natural stomping grounds. Wrong head for piranha, wrong coloration for piranha, wrong size for piranha.
Oh, just one more thing... Pacu are well(?)-known for their human-like teeth. |

I've always said that humans are well-known for their Pacu-like teeth. After all, evolutionarily speaking, I'm pretty sure they had them first.

For example I do not know my height in centimetres, despite being brought up in the metric age. Ditto weight in kg. And we still talk about miles, although I'm more likely to use metres for smaller distances (blame athletics) I do deal in degrees celsius though. Just to be difficult. |

His elbow is on is leg so he's probably holding the fish a foot and a half two two feet out, and the camera is close enough to the fish to full frame it. So no, the perspective is off.

how is he holding it with just one hand that's off center? You might assume his other hand is in back, but what could he possibly be holding onto there? There don't appear to be any fins on the sides of the fish. That picture looks all weird. Maybe he's stabbing it with a knife on the other side and holding it that way.
