Capitalism = $$$ for Cellar
Going along with my whole "people are greedy" motif, how about some sort of "Hall of Fame" forum Tony?
How do people get to post in the Hall of Fame? Donate to the Cellar! Kinda how like when some group builds a monument, and they sell bricks in the monument where you can put your name or a short message. No replies or anything allowed.. just a short list of people who've contributed and whatever the hell they want to say in their post. |

Money generally destroys websites.
(Err, except, that is, for money paid to me to consult on, design, build, program, and operate web sites. THAT money is extremely well-spent.) The other thing is, there is no secret section of this place that only a special elite few can see. I've seen communities that had such things, and they weren't really all that healthy in the long run. It encourages an exclusive attitude. Here, we like new people. Well good new people. Well people just like us. Um. |

No, no, no... I'm not talking about "elite" content. I mean a place where if people who donate want to be recognized, they can. Just a donors list or whatever, maybe "Hall of Fame" was a bad term.
Something that says, "The Cellar would like to thank these people for contributing", and if they wanted to put in a short blurb they can. Or don't even let the donors themselves post; you moderate the forum and post a message when someone donates. |

That's beside the point. Not everyone is as good at tooting their own horn as Dave. Not a slam against dham, it's just not some people's style. Also, it gets lost in the clutter.
I'm talking about just some sort of recognition for people giving their money. |
