Blue Jeans

Do you wear them?
Do your Kids? Parents? Grandkids? grandparents?.......

I remember reading a while back they were doomed because Reagan wore them and he was old, so younger generations wouldn't touch them with a fossilized whale penis.

Beest and I wear jeans, but black. we're mid 40s. The kids (13-17)...2/3 won't touch them, the other wears dark blue jeans only if the risk of frostbite is serious enough that his shorts hide from him.

And yet... whenever there is a "dress thing" at school where groups of students who don't have team uniform/spiritwear thing in common are asked to dress the same, it's always Blue Jeans.

PoloGirl had a pair of Jeggings someone gave her that she kept for just this purpose (and no other). She won't wear jeans of any color. PoloboyII would have been up shit creek without a pa.......ir of blue jeans, were it not for the cartoon ripped pants incident last Sunday during a family outing that forced us to stop at a thrift store and buy the only pants in the store that fit... he only wears Camo.

Yep, I wear them. So do my sons. BelovedDaughter is a girly girl, and I'm sure she *has* some, but I can't remember the last time I saw her wearing a pair of blue jeans.

When I was a teen, I wore men's jeans every single day.

My clothes are more feminine now, so my jeans are, I guess you could say classier? They're very dark blue (but never black,) and fitted in the hips and thigh. But I only own maybe 2-3 of them, and only wear them November-February. The rest of the time it's too fuckin' hot.

Forgot to mention the kids: Minifobette wore them when she was too young to have an opinion on that type of thing, but since the age of 4 or so, she absolutely won't touch them. Minifob doesn't care, he'll wear whatever is at the top of his drawer, except they're not allowed to wear jeans to school, only khaki or navy, so that's the majority of what's in his drawer.

I pretty much live in jeans or cargo pants.

I live in jeans. I prefer black but also have blue and middle-aged-lady other colour, currently teal. Also I was thrilled to buy my first ever denim jacket recently.

I used to wear blue jeans exclusively when not at work or formal occasions, and then one day it occurred to me that they just aren't as comfortable as other pants. So now I wear sort of docker-ish pants that are a bit like cargo pants with extra pockets and stuff. Baggier and more comfortable.

At this rate, I'll be wearing sweatpants exclusively in a few years.

My favorite pants are my Scout leader uniform pants. Dressy cargo pants with zip off legs for when it gets hot. My wife hates them, so I only wear them to Scouts and camping. They are so comfortable and the big pockets are on the sides, so when you sit down, your phone and reading glasses case don't jamb into you.

That's Mr. Clod's excuse as well--he genuinely uses the cargo pockets on both sides of his pants, and things have to get very formal before he moves into real dress pants and not just tucking his button-down shirt into his cargo pants. Even if he's doing gross yard work or whatever, he wears old cargo pants, not jeans.

If jeans aren't allowed, I don't go. Of course there's a huge gray area between not allowed and just socially unacceptable. Unacceptable means they can cluck and whisper and peer down their noses with distain. Not allowed means they must have the ability to physically stop me which is pretty rare.

I've pretty much worn jeans as my pant of choice since high school in the early 70's. But now that I seem to mostly work from home and live in hot and humid Houston I wear nylon type running shorts most of the time. Jeans are only for winter months. I only own one navy blazer and a pair of tan and a pair of grey slacks that I only wear to weddings, funerals and my wife's annual company Christmas party.

Used to wear them all time, but I've evolved into cargo shorts in the spring, summer, fall and into these the rest of the time.

Jeans rule. Black, blue, (ladies in white jeans) whatever. During summer I wear cotton shorts almost exclusively. When I go to the bar with the $5 buckets, I wear jeans (and sometimes a long sleeved shirt), even in summer, cuz it be cold in there.

I'm in jeans from October to May, cargo shorts May-Oct. I like jeans that have the painter pockets and hammer loop... but they're hard to find anymore.
