Delaware Electricity

On 5 Aug 2016
Quote:
A major power line project in New Jersey that threatened to jack up electric rates on Delaware customers has been halted for at least six months.
View numbers from PJM's Oasis - price of electricity throughout the grid.
Salem Nuclear plants $18.40 per Megawatt hour. New Freedom switching station $18.70. Vineland NJ $18.70. New Castle DE (with a direct connection to those plants) $18.80.

On the west shore of Maryland in Calvert Cliffs nuclear plants $35.70 per Megawatt hour. Chalk Point generating station $38.10.

Delaware and East coast of Maryland have no connection across the Delaware River or Chesapeake Bay. Insufficient power lines into that region means locals must shutdown businesses or pay highest rates. But those who spin cost controls *know* new power lines directly to three nuclear power plants and other electrical generators will only increase electric prices (see that newspaper article). View their current elecctric prices as of midday 21 Sept 2016 on a normal but cloudy day at 23 degrees C.
Lewes DE $43.40. Bayview $137.90. New Church generating station $135.60.

When does a reporter first learn from numbers?
