lol... I know what you mean... you should see the "sugar cookies" to which she added the oatmeal chocolate chip dough and all those pretty candy flowers before I knew what she was up too... mmmm yummy and festive....
I did scrub her down pretty good, but just about every cookie has her little finger prints... she had to keep poking at them |

the kids and I are baking in the morning.....we spent this morning preparing the dough for sugar cookies and toll house cookies. I'm going to whip up some peanut butter cookies tomorrow while they are decorating the sugar cookies ( i made some kick ass buttercream icing today) I'll get some pics for you if i remember.

Whew - fortunately my little elf helpers actually wash their hands after messing with the dogs, after being reminded. I'm not so confident about the younger one's fingernails though...
Anyhow, we made some spritz today, for which I introduced them to the joys of the cookie press. Their favorite ones, of course, are the ones that came out looking like cat turds with multicolored litter sprinkles. |

nothing like baking from scratch to make math and science fun and delicious for helper elves. If I baked for us, we would be twice as fat The secret is having someone to help you eat them besides the coworkers you exchange cookies with....We may, however may rent an elf this year........ Mzzip

I'm hoping to get working on some chocolate chunk cookies tomorrow. One of the ambulance guys put in a special fudge request, so I'll have to negotiate with momwolf for kitchen time. There will be some leftover peanut butter chips from the PB fudge, so they might find their way into some of the chocolate chunk cookies.
If I get really into it, might do something that involves rolling and cutting out, haven't decided yet. May end up depending on whether I have the right ingredients. I don't remember seeing any molasses in the cabinet, so I may have to pass on the gingerbread. Sugar cookies are a possibility, however.

I got the baking bug tonight
and made pull apart (monkey bread) cinnamon buns.
A BIG pan of them. I got carried away a bit with the dough and it nearly overflowed the bundt pan and a few drops of the sugar/molasses/honey glaze did spill out but I put down a drip pan so I didn't have to clean the oven tonight. It was very easy and my wife now thinks I'm the world's greatest baker (I'm not but don't tell her). I just turned it out of the pan after cooling and it looks yummy! I wish I had my camera so I could take a picture. I'll see if I can find a generic pic somewhere. Brian
