Before I check the link, I'll guess:
He didn't want to interrupt his wife?

it's ok, I was trying to think of a feeding tube joke. But seriously, that's got to be weird, waking up after what you think is three months and your kids are grown up and you're blind. I mean, my first words would've been, "Dude. This sucks."

This is truly amazing, but I'm wondering about the cop who woke up, had a great chat and then shut down again. Weird. Whenever I think I've got problems I read something like this and it really renews my sense of hope and faith. Wow!

I remember a case where a coma patient was getting a root canal and the doc gave her valium just to prevent involuntary pain response and as soon as the valium kicked in she woke up and was lucid, when the valium wore off, she went comatose again.
The friend who related this story to me was a shrink. I don't know where he heard it. Wolf? throw us a frickin' bone here. need the info, OK?

This is neurology, not psychology.
If they come to talking about hearing voices ... or describing the white tunnel with the dead relatives waiting at the end, I can help yah. As far as the valium thing? The question is what happened when they gave her more valium? Repeatable or artifact? http://imdb.com/title/tt0099077/]Awakenings comes to mind, though.
