August 6, 2012 - Corridor of Stone Peaks

It doesn't look real, does it?

It is a series of limestone peaks, or apexes, with two jungles, two caves and two "relics."

In the Qian Jun Apex Jungle, the stone peaks are not connected but closely next to each other. The other jungle is called the Gongzhengxishu Apex jungle.

The two caves are the “sky-reaching cave” and the “Yang Yan Cave.” Both have a large quantity of unique stalactites.

One of the "relics" is a defensive castle called “Pengjiaci Temple.” It was built in the middle of Qing Dynasty by Pengshi clansmen to resist brigands.

The other "relic" is Small Zhaozhou Bridge. It is a "comely" bridge spanning over a little river, built without any piers.

I found the image on Bab Aloud. The descriptions I found on ChinaTravel.com.

(Sorry I didn't have more time to look into the "relics" and caves. That would have been interesting.)

That's a cool shot. The water is really green. Is it supposed to be that color?

I see how the pic has been taken to give that unreal effect now. The photographer is inside one cave with no flash, taking a pic of the area outside which is lit.

It took me a few minutes to figure it out. Was I slow or did everyone have the same trouble?

I saw the perspective from inside the cave right away.

I still don't see the disconnected peaks though.

I'm with you Ali, it took me a minute to realize the black part was foreground, and not night sky above the jagged peaks.

Do a Google Image search on Gongzhengxishu Apex jungle,
the isolated peaks will show up as associated images.
