i'm not giving you shit, i started when i was 15(quit at 27?), but i didnt start coffee until i was 20 or so.

why did you feel like you should mention that in this thread, though?

I would assume that's what Rokko does when he's stressed out.

Rokko, please understand that I'm not trying to give you a lecture here (I still smoke and used to drink 2 pots of coffee a day)...but Goddamn, man, tell me you're not doing that kind of thing on a regular. If you can quit that kind of shit now, you'll be so much better off in the long run. It's so much easier to do when you're younger, IMO.

I started smoking and drinking coffee at 19 (I'm 28 now). I kicked caffeine a year ago, but the smoking is still an issue.

I lack coping skills. Im sorta self destructive, and i often find it hard to care about myslef. As i see it, i could easily be doing much worse things (harder drugs, drinking) but iveset my limit at smoking and the occasional bowl of weed.

And sycamore was right. Thats what i do when im stressed out.

Normally, its about 2 packs/week and 2 cups of coffee a day.

That rate quickly goes up when im stressed or angry.

Unhappy Bad Days

Car accident today. No injuries, but I expect I may be in the market for a new car. We'll see what the appraiser says.

How'd I deal? I went to CompUSA and got some toys, then I went to my parent's place and did some woodworking and tried out a new pasta maker. Then it was back home for two of the better episodes of "Babylon 5".

for a bad day, i would recommend a punching bag or a drumset- great stress relievers!!! if none of those are available, go through your kitchen cabinets right now, and set aside any chipped plates, and mismatched glassware that you don't like and any glassware that you never really use. then, when you get pissed off, throw them against the wall, one by one. feels so good.

Besides eating a lot of chocolate, I go for some running when I'm stressed or depressed. Mostly because of the fresh air and the silence, but also because you can concentrate on your feelings an thoughts. Some say that the shocks on your feet will have a benefic effect against headaches and bad mood.

I mull quietly, bottle it all up inside, and then take it out on the person that's closest to me.

It's probably the best way to handle things.

Not that it is life threatening or anything, but the cmos battery in the laptop that I use for school went out this weekend. Talk about an obscure item in a town that's only just entering the '90s.

All of my notes and class papers and recordings are as inaccessible as the moon yet sitting right next to me as I type.

I couldn't find the part number, even on IBM's own website.

I ended up having to pull the battery assembly, figure out what kind of batter it was, and then rebuild it with the new battery. All between the 8:00 opening time of Office Depot and my 9:00 class.

My worst days in the past few months have involved people dropping dead unexpectedly and car troubles. When I'm down, I hurl HB onto the bed (or any available surface) and have my way with him. This makes us both feel much better.

edited for spelling. I'm a terribel typest when i'm hot and bothrd.
