Sept 12, 2010: Critter Sweaters

Elaine Bradford, in Austin, Texas, made sweaters for a bunch of animals, living and dead... well, mostly dead... and some imaginary.

Unlike the wacky projects like clothing nude animals for decency, this is an art installation. I think she's offbeat, but probably not crazy.

Why is that so wacky? An animal can walk down the street completely nude, and it's perfectly acceptable. If I tried the same thing, I'd be arrested in short order. You know what that is? It's human discrimination. Either let me walk the earth in my natural state, or put some clothes on those indecent animals. This double standard has got to stop!

There are instructions out there for each of the different scarves. I have considered learning to knit just to make a Dr. Who scarf. But I haven't undertaken it yet.
