That Badass Bear looks as if he's having a great time. A bit of jog and then when he's bored, he'll strike.

I've seen that video. Note that those are ONLY mature bears, that are well fed. They're successful hunters on their own and/or they've also snacked on waste foods that the humans have left for them.

Any bear that has gone hungry for awhile, or is preparing to hibernate and needs more fat, is a much more aggressive animal.

I've seen video's/pics of two other amazing friendships among animals:

1) The snake that bonded with a mouse or hamster, that was put into his cage, as dinner. The rodent actually rested right on top of the snake's coiled up body.

I'm guessing the snake was enjoying the rodent's extra bit of warmth, but just a guess.

2) Three cheetah siblings ran down a very young Tommy gazelle, licked it's neck and head, and then let it go. Very unusual, indeed.

We had the cheetah pictures here. Turns out they were just tasting that Gazelle in the pictures, they ate it later.

The Daily Mail made up that fairy tale story of the cheetahs letting it go! That's such a blatant lie - but more in character for predators, surely.

Well, that leaves the mouse with the snake, some "new mothers" that will nurse other young'uns, and the polar bears who play with the dogs.

And the heck with the bears and the snakes!

It wasn't just the Mail, those pictures, with the same story, were all over the internet for a week or more, before the photographer came forth with the whole story. Those youngsters were being taught to hunt and didn't quite get it yet. They would catch it and mouth the neck, but didn't have the clamping off the windpipe perfected.

This is fast food at its best.
Imagine the discipline to allow ones self to be eaten in the hopes for an escape.

By the look if its injuries, I dont think the Bison had a chance...in fact, it would probably end up enduring a long miserable death.

The photographer has confirmed that the bison DID "out maneuver" the grizzly and escape - but to no avail. He had to be killed the very next day by the rangers, because his injuries from being burned, were too severe.

The reason the bison looks so "cooked" in the photo's, is that he had fallen into one of the hot springs in the area, and was badly burned before he got out.
