PS: To those I've dubbed "Cellar Slut": I didn't really mean it, of course. I'm not one of those chicks who goes around calling girls silly names. I just couldn't resist the consonance, plus it was getting late.
to SHE whom you have dubbed cellar slut. thanks. you know nothing about me, but feel free to call me anything you want. i really don't care because i noticed that while you were attempting to insult everyone else, you took my title up in there.

as far as apologizing goes, don't apologize to me...apologize to dave. you hurt his feelings. i'm his little sister.

Reply to Bitmap about photoshop

So you don't use photoshop to design graphics. Just out of curiousity what do you use Microsoft Paint? and I would love to see some of your designs.

Shit, did anyone tell him about the gauntlet? Oh boy...

Well, let's review your postings thus far...

--Ah, I see you haven't insulted anybody.
--You've made some nice contributions so far.
--Nice photos

Yeah, I'd say you're in. Don't be like Radar, Cairo, or Xugumad, and you'll be fine.

So, basically, he was posting a commercial message on a messageboard without first getting involved with the community.

In other words, spamming.

And as has been demonstrated, that sort of thing doesn't fly too far around here.

No one doubts he's a good guy. But I think it should be fairly obvious why this whole thing happened.

Honestly, I hope he drags his ass back here, gets involved debating and discussing and proves me wrong. Why? Because I'd rather have someone who actually cares about the community than be right about someone's intentions.

You're welcome to stay, too. That's what the man says, and I tend to agree with him. I'd still say, however, that if you're looking to get flamed off the boards and turn overall opinion against you, your first post was a great start.

Here's something I wrote a while back to someone else, and I think it applies here, so I'm posting it.

Since you didn't get a welcome post, here it is.

I'm the resident asshole. The older I become, the more I hate people as a whole. I'm pretty quick to tell your that your ideas are ridiculous and even quicker to write you off as someone whom I don't need to pay attention to. I'm basically married, which means I don't feel like I need to be nice to females - so I'm not. You'll get no special treatment from me because I don't care. Since you seem to be more of the liberal bent (judging from your profile and your few posts), we will probably agree on many things but disagree on even more. And I probably won't keep it a secret.

That having been said, I'm glad you're here. The Cellar, to me, is a community. It works very well, and I hope it works well for you. I've been posting regularly here for nearly two years and it's been a good time. It can be pretty much anything to you that you want it to. You decide your level of involvement. I hope that it's as fulfilling for you as it has been for me; that you find friends here and that your enemies aren't too evil; that, at the end of your stay, be it a week or ten years, you say "I'm glad I did that."

Don't be discouraged too quickly and I believe you'll find it's worth it.

I'm glad to have you. Welcome to the Cellar.

As you all know, I'm a new to the cellar. Lurked for a while and threw in my 2 cents (or less) once in a while. Following through this thread has been an education to say the least. It reminds me of watching a drunk at a party going through the mood swings. Jovial, wild, sloppy, contrite, brazen, defensive, etc. etc. Now THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!!

I've been staring at this damned edit box for at least twenty minutes, and I swear, I've thought about 10 sarcastic, smart-assed responses... sadly, I can't find the right words for saving my life. And I was pride of my self-taught english.

Aw, crap. Welcome to the Cellar.

the contest is over

Check out the page now, and the "logo" the winner submitted.

When i hit the splash page i thought the site might have evolved into some thing actualy kind of cool but it's still rather ugly.....so very..... very... ugly.

This is what happens when you don't test browser compatibility on your Internet-Exploder-only sites. Notice the bottom of the page is hardly readable.

There are two useful tools in most modern image editors, crop and resize.

Which requires work. Laziness is the main issue, though I doubt UT has a filter for that.
