I think this thread is in the wrong catagory, but here's my

Jack FM in Los Angeles & Orange County, CA.

Very cool mix of old and new rock. In the last hour I've heard some OLD Van Halen, Prince, Men @ Work, Def Leopard, Yaz, new Jack Johnson and U2.

New on the scene, Minnesota Public Radio introduces MPR 89.3 The Current

No commercials, lots of interesting music of all sorts. Like College Radio all growed up. It a very, very smart programming change. They still have the Classical station, and the college stations are still cranking. The current hits right in the meat of the bat.

Jack ROCKS! One day I heard Duran Duran, Queen and Depeche Mode all in a row. Gawd, I miss the 80's.............

On a very, very frightening note ... did anyone else watch the One-Hit Wonders competition show on NBC on Thursday?

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Especially since the best act of the night was Tiffany. I hate Tiffany. A lot.

But she's the only one who seems not to have lost her voice to the ravages of whiskey, drugs, and unfiltered Camels.

I was only able to watch it because we had a surprisingly light night at work and had no patients in between 2100 and 2200. I will have to set the VCR for future episodes, because I do NOT want to miss seeing The Knack.

I believe our last locally owned station KGB FM, a new metal station, capitulated to Clear Channel a while back. Barring a pirate station or a boost in power from the college we've got nothing but Radio Paradise. I would like to thank the FCC for making sure our area is properly "served", on a platter to corporate media, that is.

this is my Favourite!! they have excellent music, Awesome, interesting news reports, and on my way home from work they have a program called "Hack" where they talk about 1 issue for 1/2 and hour and have ppl call in, and interview specialists etc, but they do it all in "youth" language.. so i can understand everything! Its a great station that is availiable all over Australia and New Zealand.

We have a JackFM here in KC, too. I love it. You can hear Debra Gibson and Black Sabbath in the same fifteen minute block.

If driving to Chicago, I like 93.1 WXRT. Sometimes I listen to Q101 when in Chicago, but more for nostalgias sake because that's what I listened to in high school - until my senior year, i discovered XRT and didn't look back.

If driving around Champaign (Crappaign), I like 107.1 WPGU - College radio station that plays good music in between really really crappy DJ banter. One guy is really good, the rest of them can shut up.

If in North Carolina, WUNC is a FANTASTIC public radio station. All those great public radio shows, all day long.

If in London or listening to the radio via iTunes, always Virgin Radio. I would say that Virgin RAdio is my favorite radio station of all time.

Here in the UK, it's got to be Virgin Radio (1215AM), only classics and the best of new music, and no rubbish boy bands or girl groups or whatever.

I used to listen to Northsound 1 (96.9FM), Aberdeen's main radio station, but its so full of rubbish (bad music, annoying DJs and cheap, infuriating local advertising) i couldnt stand it any longer.

We don't get it here, of course, but I loved radio 1190 in Boulder. It is put on by CU, and I have never heard a recognizable artist on this station. They play all indie music with the thought that they are promoting little known artists. Great stuff.
