They *are* pretty dang cute.

What do they eat? Are they .... compatible with the chickens in the coop?

They seem to be thriving on corn and oats. The chickens don't seem to mind since they're nocturnal. I don't know where they're nesting though. I'd hate to get bit by something so cute while gathering eggs and die of something awful.

I had one of those on my face in the middle of the night. They are as soft as they look. Except for the claws.

It got in the house somehow. I woke up when my wife started screaming, and then something soft and then scratchy was on my face. Scrambling to get away from the loud screams. I spent 10 minutes with a broom and a flashlight, in my boxers, trying to get it out a window. Throw rug folded up at the bottom gap of the bedroom door so it couldn't get into the rest of the house. Didn't know wtf it was at the time, but then saw pictures of them at the local nature center. Yup. Flying squirrel.

It was tired of running around by the time it found the window. I wish I had video. It would be hilarious. Room was somewhat trashed by the time I got it out.

Where are their wings? And did possums start flying at the same time as the pigs did?

Loose skin that stretches from their front to hind legs spreads out flat when they launch themselves into the air and gives them lift. They're gliding squirrels really. They glide from tree to tree but can't climb in altitude.

Flying squirrels? What's next? Rights for gays?
